You have to stop defending everything DICE do and want otherwise we get left with a mess like BF 3 where as when people do complain and voice what they want then you get a game that is much better i.e.
Why must I ?
Nearly 700 hours on I'm still enjoying the game. I've been playing a lot of CTF end game recently to mix things up, but conquest is still my most played game type with well over 1000 games.
I don't mind the jets. Yes if your team has no decent jet pilots and their team has a 100 * jet pilot you'll get ruined. But with inbalanced games like that I tend to just leave and find another game.
To get as good with the jets as those people are takes skill. I've tried and tried and just can't seem to master them to that extent. So just leave them be, you can't call for something to be removed from the game because somebody else is skilled with it and your not.
I'm not making assumptions about your or my skill with the game in general - or as an infantry player here. Just commenting that its obvious to me that both of us aren't that amazing with jets.
To me it has always felt that BC2 retained some of that old BF2 feel but BF3 felt way more like COD to me - less teamplay, faster gameplay, more instant action, etc. I don't think they'll get it right with BF4 as it just looks exactly like BF3.
The thing you need to understand is that DICE didn't really understand console gamers. They ported Battlefield 2 onto the original Xbox as Battlefield : Modern Combat and it didn't do that well. They felt that the console FPS market was too saturated with people that either played COD, or had played it in the past. In order to get these people to play battleifeld they couldn't simply just port the PC battlefield game onto the console, they had to create a console specific battlefield title. Thats where Bad Company 1 came in. That really was a COD clone, but the PC crowd still wanted it as it was a battlefield game they were missing out on. THus when Bad Company 2 came out, they released a PC version as they hadn't counted on the PC fans wanting the console game.
BC2 still lacked a lot of features that BF2 had, but people seemed to skip over this as it was called Bad Company instead of battlefeld, but it was fundamentally a cut down version designed to appeal to console gamers. The popularity of the game on consoles was growing so much, with a desire to play a proper battlefeld game, and they merged the two franchises to produce Battlefield 3. This was designed to be part battlefield game, part bad company. What took DICE by surprise was how many console gamers were saying they didn't want cut down versions of the maps. They produced a 3 flag version of wake island, and a 3 flag version of Gulf Of Oman, and a 3 Flag version of Sharqui Peninsula. But nobody on the console played them at all. The desire was for the biggest versions the console would allow. DICE never counted on this and its why they showcased the B2K DLC to the press at the time on console playing the samller 3 flag maps.
Thats why, this time round with battlefield 4, they have the full size 64 player maps on console, because they've finally realized that the Battlefield francise has just as much of a devout following on the console as it does on the PC. No longer are they just targeting COD gamers, they are targetting the Battlefield Fans who play on console and want the full PC experience. Battlefield 3 was a toe in the water, a test of whether or not they could combine the two franchises, and how much console gamers wanted a full proper battlefield game. That's why you've seen a Battlefield 4 follow battlefield 3, rather than a new Bad Company game.
Battlefield 4 creative director: 'We underestimated console gamers'
Bit of a stupid question that as I have already explained my reasons, to make the game overall better and as it stands the majority of people I know on forums like this, friends etc. much prefer BC 2 to BF 3, even the diehard BF 2 veterans, why is that??? Simple answer....... it was a more "fun and enjoyable" game (isn't that the whole point of gaming??) that was better balanced overall and didn't have as many annoying problems.
How many prefered BC2 to BF2 though ?
BF3 was designed as a crossover title, that would provide cut down gameplay to the console gamers, and the full experience to the PC. Thats why the PC ended up with several maps that was obviously designed for no more than about 32 people. Most of the PC gamer's criticisms about battlefield 3 was that it didn't have enough of the BF2 features in it, not that they wanted the jets removed and prone removed etc !!
