For people who have had this issue then yes installing disc 2 onto a decent/fast usb2 pen or external usb hdd has indeed solved this issue. (This is what I have read on many forums, not first hand experience as my slim doesn't even have a ROM :p)

I FOUND THE PROBLEM! WOOT!

Turns out it was my TV!

Ive got an LG LCD and it has a feature called Trumotion, this was set to High. I think its some kind of video processing to try and make the video onscreen appear smoother. I have no idea how to works but Im guessing it artificially messes about with the frames being sent from the source device to the TV. Maybe its to make fast moving images like movies or sport appear smoother and less laggy.

I turned this off and the lag has gone! :) Awesome, it looks and plays so much better now!

So happy right now. Id advise anyone else getting weird lag issues to check their TV settings, so if there is any kind of TV processing that may be interfering with the console video signal.

Going to try this USB trick also.

Ah excellent find, mine has a gaming mode, which essentially smooths things, but its off, mine looks great im glad yours does too now!
 
When i turned on my PS3 every single person online on my friends list was playing GTAV :p

Graphics look great at some points and dodgy in othera. I love how it looks at night!
 
^For any Console/PC related gaming on a HDTV folks really should use Game Mode that virtually every tv should have a version of. It'll disable all the post processing lark that your tv has i.e dynamic contrast etc.
 
Well I'm 18 hours into it and it's amazing

Only gripe is the police are far too difficult to lose even on 1 star. Takes ages for them to go when you're out of sight.

Trevor is by far the best character too. Hilarious dialogue with him:D
 
Disk drive noise has done my head in! £12 though for a 16gb Gorsair usb3 stick isn't too bad and even better with free next day delivery :D Just a shame as ordered now it wont come until Thursday :(

Graphics wise I think on any given scene in terms of quality (texture, AA etc.) many games graphics are better but then they don't have to cope with as much as GTA. Overall I agree that there isn't a graphically better game on consoles.

So fair played 9 hours but only 15% way through, which if I continue puts single player time as 60 hours. Though I haven't finish exploring and I am sure there is some missions I will want to repeat etc. So little time before gta online comes out though, how will I find the time!

WOW! Just got Michael, and so I took a 458 (amazing sound) out North up the freeway, amazing drive, love the scenery. Randomly started driving up a mountain but I rolled the car and it exploded straight away! Awesome! :D
 
Anyone had glitch yet, where you driving and next min texture on road stop loading and car go underground?
Happened once but can't remember where about I was lol

Ps3 version
