********* The Official GTA V (5) thread! *********

I'm not a huge fan of the driving, but only because I keep crashing. Does seem a lot more tricky than GTA4 but it's mostly because I'm always gunning it around. The racing missions with Franklin are impossible for me so far so have left them. Just crash into everyone and everything

It's basically impossible to crash with Franklin. Learn to use his special ability, it will stop any fishtailing as well as allowing you to go around hairpin corners at full speed.

The biggest improvement for me is the fact that you can park your car, go and do a mission/faff about and return to your car - it's still there! In virtually all the previous GTA's, your car would mysteriously vanish.

Found a Sandking last night, so took it to the countryside to see (Mow) the wildlife, I can see that being a good Youtube vid..."Uncle Gravy's Countrywatch"....."Come here you b******".

The cars in GTA4 handled far better than in this imo. It was far more realistic, you couldn't stop from 100mph in 2 feet which meant you actually had to plan your route through traffic which you don't anymore which is a big shame.
Sure in 4 the handling wasn't perfect but had they twekaed it a bit then that would have been great, shame they went the other way and made them all handle like they're made of air :(
Other than that, game is great!

Good job this isn't Forza then!

You don't even have to drive anyway, therefore, in vehicle elements of this game are probably less than 5% of what you actually need or want to achieve. To make a game like this, for prev gen consoles, sacrifices have to be made somewhere. Would you rather the vehicles handled better than they did in GTA IV but that the overall world / map / gfx were the same?

I parked a chopper outside a strip club, went for a couple dances. Came out and off to the next strip club I went :P

I do get taxis most of the time if it's a long old drive away for a mission. However when just exploring, I'll drive :)

The best thing about this is, I'm 23 hours in (lol at that after only having it a day) and I'm at 33%, that's amazing! Going to be a long game :)

When towing a car is there a way to change the height of the tow cable?

I'm sure some tip came up saying how to do it but disappeared as I went to read it.

Up and down on the left stick, only works when stationary though

The only thing I am having issues with so far is aiming, I really am just crap with a gamepad :(

Spent a few hours at a gun range just doing all the challenges trying to get better but not seeing much of an improvement.

Anyone got any tips? I am playing on the PS3 and I have lowered the sensitivity a bit so I don't keep overshooting past targets all the time but I am finding it difficult to be accurate in the last few inches of aiming.

For instance, I can switch between targets quite quickly now and track moving ones OK but zeroing in on the headshot is so frustrating. Keep going backwards and forwards either side of the target around the top deadzone of the thumb stick.

Finding the driving really easy though.

5%?! More like 95%.

Be realistic here, nobody's expecting it to be a driving simulator, and it's rather silly to even suggest that there's any kind of trade-off between vehicle handling and map size or visual quality. They've simplified how cars handle because people moaned about it in GTA4 (or didn't have the skill), simple as that. Unfortunately, in the process they've ignored the people who quite liked GTA4's model.

It's not a game-breaker by any means, but I'm sure you can understand that it's going to take a lot of getting used to for people who preferred the previous way of doing things. When you're accustomed to having to slow down a little and ease your car around a tight corner, it doesn't feel right to be able to stay on the throttle and just tap the stick to perform a near-90 degree turn.
