*** The Official Sony Xperia i1 'Honami' Thread ***

Mine is coming today.
Had a play with one in the store on Saturday, ended up taking out a contract for the xperia z ultra, however I got it on Vodafone, and the signal just sucked, so I had to get it cancelled.

Hopefully the z1 on T-Mobile doesn't disappoint.

I received my Z1 today from EE. Not impressed as it was broken, the glass back was badly cracked. Seems very fragile so I'll be swapping it out for a HTC One.

That is very surprising, it was broken in the box? Was any of the metal damaged? The rear doesn't appear to be under any stress (there is room for different materials to expand/contract) and fragile is the last way I'd use to describe the Z1!

I always thought vodafone sat on T-mobile/EE network?! could well be wrong.

Well guys I have just cancelled my preorder of the Z1.
I had a look at it instore at the CPW and decided it's just a tad too big for my liking.
I decided to preorder the Nokia Lumia 1020 now.

Bit ot anything could have happened with it.

Not really...I know it was probably damaged in transit, but the glass feels really thin to me, and that's put me off. Plus I don't like the Sony UI.

No damage to the metal frame, just smashed glass back. If the UI was better then I would have considered a replacement, but I've decided to go back to HTC as my past handsets have solid and reliable.

Sony screwed up with the bezel on this thing big time:

...and it weighs 170g :D

Bigger battery and large camera sensor are adding to the weight.

Would make sense if either packed there weight as it is judging fRom the Gsmarena review they are better but not as good as they should have been as always is still 1 step short from Sony.

Swapped my broken Z1 for the HTC One, and I'm very pleased with it. Feels great and the speakers are brilliant. So the screen and camera may be better on the Sony, but I cant really notice a huge difference...

Ok, i had a long play with this the other day in a shop. Thoughts: a bit big, good screen and very fluid performance, but I was shocked how bad the camera was in terms of close-up detail. I took two shots, one at 8MP and one at 20MP and simply zoomed in. The detail when zoomed in is significantly worse than the Galaxy S3 and S4 I tested all side by side)... it looks seriously rough and ropey to the point where details are simply obscured. In comparison to my SIII it looks much worse. very disappointed in that, as I really want the Honami Mini and if it has the same camera then I'm, not overly impressed with it.
