Taxi missions are available. As mentioned a fair bit earlier, flip a coin to decide whether they get where they're going or if you're going to take them into the desert and murder them :p

Just went on the r* website, holymoly it's git a lot of cool info, also it seems I've only done 22 of the 68 missions, thus is excellent news! Love this game and it's so damn big, in both story, world, and diversity!
 
Just had such a great random event. I was yelled at by a female NPC and told some guy was beating up his wife. So I followed her into this dark alley where she claimed it was happening but she then vanished around a corner. Up pops 3 guys packing heat demanding all my money.

Luckily I came armed with a silenced SMG with extended mag and flashlight. I effortlessly killed all three in a smooth burst of silenced gunfire. Felt so badass! I then pursued the NPC who drew me into the trap but unfortunately they had gone.

Do wish this allowed you to switch shoulder perspective from left to right though. GTA IV did that if I recall correctly (along with being able to crouch). I also wish the sound of gunfire was louder in general. Just sounds kinda muted to me even on 5.1 surround set up.
 
Well just spent the last 2 hours playing Tennis and Golf lol.

Also been driving around and looking at the sights. The world is huge.
Really enjoying it gotta be fair :).

Its for decal, some part into the story you unlock the ability to buy places and they will show on map.
 
I can't...........stop......playing....0_o lol its very addictive. The missions are so much more fun than the previous game.

Just done a few of the flying missions with trevor..so much fun

I think this is easily the most fun i'v had on a game this year....I spent the first day pretty much in the city and today iv been doing the desert stuff...The world is so much more fun with all the desert and mountain areas.
 
Does anyone know what the significance of the numbers on each characters picture are for when swapping between them? They seem to change all the time but I don't know what the reason is.

I read on reddit that they correlate to the amount of missions available to that particular character. I am not sure if that is accurate though as I have seen it showing 4 or 5 for characters who have no missions available, so it may include activities like the triathlon or perhaps missions activated from phone calls, etc.
 
Jegethy, it isn't just story missions, but stranger missions too. If you pulled the map up and couldn't find any missions for that character then the likelihood is the "?" disappeared before you could find it on the map. Seems like it's a bit like Red Dead Redemption where the stranger missions sometimes only pop up at certain times or if you're in the vicinity.
 
Gta 5 is good but its irritating that it lets you go all the way to a mission with say franklin then when you get there it says return with michael to start the mission. Thats just stupid. Michaels missions shouldnt show up on franklins map

To be fair they are colour coded so you know which mission is for which character.
 
I just spent about $60k doing up a car, and my god it's amazing, the sound is incredible, it's just awesome! I love this game!

They're colour coded. So don't go to the yellow ones (Trevor's) with Michael or Franklin, etc.
