The Official Pro Evolution soccer 2014

What about RvP, a 95 rated player who is just as sluggish with the ball at his feet as anyone else? Sorry, but there's more going on here than people trying too much with players whos stats aren't up to it.

I'm glad that people like the game, that is no bad thing at all, this is a series I will always be invested in, but the choices they've made with this version are going to annoy a lot of people. Some of it is down to personal taste, you either like the way the players move and control the ball, or you don't, there's no right or wrong there, if you're lucky enough to enjoy the feel of the game then great. But there's other things that are quite clearly wrong no matter what your feelings on the game are, that clip where Tevez controls the ball like a retard and gets caught by the last man when he should have been in on goal quite easily, that WILL happen an awful lot, and there's no spinning that into anything but a negative and very annoying part of the game. There's a load of other things in the game that feel just as cheap to me, and it's made the game very hard to enjoy.

No you cant , if you force it to 120 using GFX control panel the game starts to suffer lag and jitters. leaving it to its 60 the game runs flawless.
 
Good post jonney.

I'll give the game some more time, start a Master League, play with better teams, national sides etc and see what I think.

I just find it a bit worrying as I normally start really positive about a new PES then become more negative as I learn about it's failings later on.

I do miss having 3 different run speeds though. It worked perfectly in older versions of the game, especially in last years game. You could use the different speeds to get your player in exactly the right position to pull off a great pass. You're either running really fast or slow as anything atm. I feel like I have less control over the players in part due to them taking away the 3rd dribble speed.

Does anyone know if there's still a button to trigger aerial mode so I can move the player in readiness for an incoming ball?

Where do you get the patch from, mine mentions a new data pack, not that i can Finns the statistic menu on the left like it suggests. I have the dvd version .

I wasn't expecting it to be great straight away with a new engine, however it ia worse than i thought for control. Loosing the ball due to a Collision it going toward other your other player and he stands there like a tin of soup. By the time switch player has registered its too late.

Had some funny momemts where neither me or the pc can get near the ball lol.
 
I just found out how to improve the responsiveness in the game.

Change your resolution to 720p.

I was running it maxed on full HD and it gives you input lag.

Anyone running it above 720p should try it out and see if they get an improvement. It made a noticeable difference to the game for me.

I'm running on PC btw but I know it works for the consoles too as I read the advice on a forum.

im running at 2560x1440 and ive had no input lag.
i am starting to like this game abit more now :)
 
Question for people that played a lot of PES 2013 - How was the dash button implemented in that version?

I'm asking because I've started using the dash for turning and beating players in 2014 and it's working so well I'd go as far as saying it seems like that's how the game is supposed to be played. I never played enough of 2013 to get that into it, for some reason it didn't hold my attention, so I don't know if I'm simply missing how the game has been for two versions now or if it's new to this one? I've never known the dash button in Pro Evo to be used for anything other than when you have space, or are desperate enough to be worth the fairly high risk of losing the ball if players are close. Using it in tight spaces with opposing players close by has never been a viable option, yet in 2014 it seems more than a viable option, I seriously think that's how it's meant to be played.

Anyway, it's making me enjoy the game a lot more and I feel like the players are doing what I expect them to be able to do. If I'm late to the party and this is how it's been since last year, ignore me, but for anyone else that feels like their players move like crap - forget how you used to use the dash button, start using it for quick turns, to go past men, in tight spaces, basically in all the places you would have avoided using it in the past, give it a go now.
 
Sounds new to PES2014 to me, I very rarely used R1 dash when trying to beat players in 2013, on Top Player level at any rate, the AI just stood off you pretty much at all times. You pretty much had to dummy them to reliably get past when one on one.

It's a decent game but online has been poor so far for me, hopefully the severs will improve in a couple of days as they're not great at the moment. If you're a heavy online gamer I'd suggest FIFA atm.

The actual on the pitch stuff though is closer to FIFA than it has been for 5 or so years, if it wasn't for the lack of fluidity at times in animations compared to FIFA, especially when it comes to dribbling it could be argued this is a better game on the pitch this year. As a package though FIFA is literally years ahead in the content it offers and how seamless everything is. Playing PES 2014 really is like playing Original Xbox Live launch games (online) in terms of how user friendly everything is, it's dreadful and has kind of put me off the game for now as I was looking forward to playing 11v11 online to find out it's coming in a patch not due out for a few more weeks.
