********* The Official GTA V (5) thread! *********

I switched to Trevor one time and he was on a scooter chasing someone on another one.

LOL he was shouting "hey scooter boy, we're scooter buddies..."

I carried on following the guy for about 15 mins but accidently bumped into him knocking him off...

Not sure if this is spoiler but my favourite Trevor transition so far is changing to him:

Throwing someone off a bridge! :D

Someone mentioned it before but the Yoga mission was very cool. :)

I think Michael and Trevor are my fave characters, Franklin hasn't been that great thus far, although perhaps he'l get better. Loving the first main missions where you use all three, loving the game. :D

Edit* Whilst I'm here has R* mentioned anything about DLC yet? Or have I just missed any info?! :P

I hate having friends. Been our tonight (still out) and we've all talked about gta quite a bit. I don't get why we didn't just stay in and play it, write the weekend off. Not out tomorrow at least. Gta gta gta for life!

Michael is my favourite, Trevor is second and then Franklin comes in last place. At first I really disliked Trevor but after a few missions I warmed to him a little. Franklin just feels completely generic to me, I enjoyed his early game missions but now I'm two thirds of the way through the story progression and he just grates on me. He doesn't have the charisma, the dry one liners or cynicism of Michael and he doesn't have the balls out, sometimes calculated, sometimes not, craziness of Trevor. He's just a poor CJ clone in my opinion thus far.

I think I have 20 story missions left, should be able to finish those off tomorrow and then move on to the side quests, collectables and other stuff that will need mopping up before multiplayer becomes available. I'm really loving the tennis, golf and triathlon mini-games, pretty sure Michael is a gold medal athlete for me now. :p

Shame for the guys that debt doing this was better than enjoying the game for themselves. I'd hate to be involved in the reviewing industry of any kind of media I think

I was listening to the VideoGamer UK podcast while cooking t'other day and they basically said that nobody wanted to review Grand Theft Auto, because they can't really enjoy it.

Saying that, they did say they felt it was almost flawless :p.

That's twice i've managed to steal a fighter jet only for the engines to cut out before I can land it on my airfield to store it :(

When the engine cuts just swap character then swap back again. That works for health and vehicle damage i only learned the trick after i finished the campaign wish i knew it before.

Not an actual spoiler just a big image :)

The best is yet to come!

Apparently they released on iOS first as sort of a beta test to iron out the bugs, but personally I think that is complete and utter bull. It's a pretty well known fact that Android is a far easier platform to work with, has almost 80% market share and is built completely different than iOS applications rendering any beta test done on Apple devices completely useless for the Android version.

I think what is more likely is that iOS had a deal with Rockstar to get it released on iPhones first and then on Android somewhere down the road but they kept hush hush about it.

It's a free app, I doubt Apple have any real stake in it. It's easier to release an app first on iOS because they're only catering for a few devices and screen resolutions. Developing for Android is notoriously more difficult.

Online query:

If for instance there is myself and 7 other players from my crew stood around on a street would we see another crew enter a bank and start to rob it? If so. Could we wait in ambush and kill them all once they leave and take their monies:-)

Does any one know how it will actually work online?

i don't think this scenario would be possible tbh, surely there are multiple banks and they would see you on the radar outside the bank before they go into it.

if another crew ran into yours whilst they were on their way to do a heist i imagine a war would instantly just break out.

if by luck though you were planning to rob the exact same bank as another crew and you managed to get there just before they came out then your scenario could be possible.

but again i don't know what the limit is on players in the online gaming and even if you will be able to see other crew's or will it just be you and your crew and nobody else in the GTA world, this is what i think it will be.

the best online sandbox gta style game was saint's row the original and first, it had game modes on levels where you and your crew would compete directly with another, or you could join a random game by yourself. every single saint's row after that though has been crap though for online play, why they decided to go down another route i will never know but the original was amazing. again the level's were usually quite small compared to the big world but yet still big enough you could hide somewhere and not be found.

Only thing I can assume is that heists of banks etc will be instanced as per mmorpg games so multiple parties per bank.

With the volume of players who have already purchased the game, I can't see this working any other way. Not even sure how they are going to manage without several different worlds to populate on the servers.

Driving around last night and I heard police sirens. Stopped to see what was going and some bloke had stolen a bus! The cops chased him til he crashed it, shot him when he tried to do a runner and then they just casually drove off.
I love the randomness in this game.

Pinched a boat & ended up behind an airport, ran all the way around the fence to get in then as soon as I did there was old bill everywhere, Stole a white pick up truck & headed towards a plane, got within about 3 foot of the plane & was taken out. :(
Came out of hospital & beat a few people up to make me feel better. :p

I'm sure everyone has done similar, but robbing someones car only for them to turn red on the radar and start chasing you, so you do a 180 and run them over. Makes me laugh every time.

Classic GTA.

It's the other way around you will find. Apple provide devs with a fully featured SDK that is very accessible and almost simple to use. This is why so many apps exist in the first place not to mention that it is easier since devs have only two types of resolutions to cater for. iOS has always been the simpler platform to develop for, this is well known. Anyhow you aren't missing anything. The app is a slow dog that spends more time communicating with the servers than anything else.
