********* The Official GTA V (5) thread! *********

Now I know you are lying, because at max speed a collision sends you flying out the window screen.

:)

i'm not entirely sure on that one, im pretty sure i went into some things at really high speeds which stopped my car dead instantly, and it took some health off but that was it.

or if you quickly get into a car and floor it as soon as your in it he doesn't put his seatbelt on whereas if you take your time or stop at any time (to reverse) he puts his seatbelt on.

i do remember going flying out a windscreen a few times in gta 4 though, hasn't happened yet in gta 5.

I must always floor it, as I've not seen a seat belt yet! my mistake.

But I've always died flying out the window at full speed collisions, Guess I need to slow down :p

Will see when I next go on, and not noticed any dead stopping from a full speed smash yet.

Well, im still not sure on this game yet. Not gripped me like Sleeping Dogs did (just finished it a few days ago, awesome game)

The changing about and being a dog was just getting on my nervs. Just done the phone dabbling/TV calling mission. Graphics are very nice for a console though! Runs pretty well from what i have done up to yet. The water detail is fantastic to.

I want online to come as that was the only thing i did on GTA4.

Stop being a douche accusing me of lying; I'm not.

I've been driving along the main roads (their equivalent of motorways, whatever they call them, freeways?) at top speed, and having head-on after head-on.

In a number of different vehicles. I have *never* been thrown out the windscreen. I was expecting it to happen, as it happened in 4 iirc.

You can accuse me of lying all you want, I'm just telling you what is happening in my game. No windscreen dismounting, and so far no sing of my car catching on fire either. Maybe it happens, but after five or six head-ons the only signs of damage I could see where the bumper and bonnet coming off.

All in all, I'd say they've really gone for the casual crowd this time around. There's no challenge to the driving (at all), and the 'instant rewind' feature when you **** up is a joke.

AS above for window launches, also drive your cars off some higher up things and try make them land on the engine area you go up in flames, I've not smashed a car enough to think "why hasn't it caught fire" so not sure on that aspect, but cars blow up and almost every panel can come off.

I disagree on the casual crowd though, they have gone for the fans more than the new casual people, or customers.

You don't enjoy it we get that, but it is the best driving in the franchise you are just either to used to the old ways or the games that are specifically for racers like GT and forza.

which is fine.

See this is what I was talking about. Cars catching fire has been a staple of the series since the original. It was one of the most common ways to die, when rammed by police cars.

Now your vehicle doesn't catch fire (that I've seen), from crash damage. I don't understand why they'd want to take that out...

Anyway, I never said it was a 'terrible game'. Just that I'm not enjoying it nearly as much as San Andreas. But I hope it will improve if I spend more time with it.

Like Sonny has already said, if you wait for your character to put the seatbelt on then they won't go through the windscreen, also there's more chance of going through the screen if you hit a narrow obstacle into the driver's side of the glass, like a telegraph pole.

You don't even have to use it and describing it as an "instant rewind" feature is a bit of a stretch. There are mid-mission checkpoints and if you die or fail an objective it gives you a black screen with the option to retry from the last checkpoint, so basically like any game released in the last decade then. If you're too hardcore for that feature and you want to play like you're back in the GTA III universe circa 2001 then why don't you just decline the retry option by pressing circle/B when asked? That way you can drive aaaaaaaall the way back to the person who starts the mission, you know, because that's much more hardcore and much less casual. Damn casual gaming noobs spoiling everybody's fun...

Instant rewind? Have you put Forza in the box by mistake?

I think it's to add a bit more realism, or take away some annoying aspects (especially online) cars going up in flames has been a part of GTA, but it's also been an annoyance.

Can't you remember being upside down in the middle of no where and boom... :p

I've no idea from crash damage, all I know is that cars still explode from certain crashes when you drive off tall things (with certain landings) :)

Damn 211.05 mph on one of my stats. :p

Doesn't feel like that in the game (I'm sure it's limited like GTA IV was, anyone know?)

I dunno, sometimes it does feel VERY fast. Annoyingly I managed to find a bugatti but on the journey to save it in my garage I ended up flying out the windscreen and dying :( haven't seen a bugatti since lol.

There is a spawn location for it at Portola Drive, Rockford Hills. . in the parking bays, if it's not there just drive around the block a few times (I didn;t like that car as much as i was expecting to)

When ever I'm max speed it feels the same, as it did with IV. Maybe it's just me lol. But the stats on the social club give me hope!

I got the Last of US and it really overheated my PS3 to the point of it being unplayable. Gets GTA5 and can play it flawlessly for hours on end no probs what so ever.

Theres a hell of a lot more content on GTA5 than Last of Us so what gives ?

It's finally here, the Daily Mail's 'outrage' article:

Spoiler warning http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...mes-Delingpole-gives-verdict-latest-game.html

:D

The comments are brilliant

Find 'gamers' a bit odd especially those over 16. Once you are old enough to drive, enjoy a drink and be out in the real world why would you want to sit playing games?!? Baffles me!

It's a sad indictment of our society. We have all this wonderful technology and this is what we use it for.
:D:D

Haha! :D

Has that poster even seen what the Daily Mail do with all this "wonderful technology"? Pretty much 99% of the DM website is devoted to pics of celebs in their swimming costumes. :p
