Galaxy Nexus sucks, it was under-powered when it was launched and it's even worse now.

I have no problems with gif's on my Galaxy S4, can view a page of gifs with no issues.

First gen Nexus 7? try ASOP browser, I don't use chrome on mobile devices, it's slow.

I use firefox for most of my browsing. My Samsung S3 works fine with most GIFS but my old Xoom tablet running 4.2.2 just crashes on some pages.

It wont be a problem since I load full page in my Iphone 5 with no issues what so ever, there is 0 lag the only bottleneck is the internet speed. I am on IOS 7 though, dunno about 6.

Good to know. I think it's just down to the sheer wheeziness of the 4's chip, the A6/7 should be more than ample to display a couple of inline GIFs.

Out of curiosity I just tried this on my iPhone 4S and loaded this .gif page from here: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18541837 (wifi connection, standard Safari, iOS 6).

The page loaded after about a minute but the gif's are far slower than if you viewed them on my Computer (some more so than others). I'll have to try again when I get my 5S in a week or so and see what the improvement is like.

Serviceable but painful at the same time, I guess echoing the above.

No problems here when browsing through the gif thread with my Blackberry Z10 or even my playbook at home. Granted i have fibre at home so wifi is fast and even on 4G my z10 has no problems whatsoever.

Must be my ancient old handst just crumbling under the weight. Not really wanting to root/flash etc for the last few months, but might be forced to.

GIFs much better than my iPad so I certainly would switch to an iPhone for that. In fact my iPad is so horrifically slow at viewing GIFs I swear there must be a bug, in both chrome and safari. The GIF thread is not viewable on my iPad but is ok on my android phone, not Fast but it works. Plus on the iPad it normally ends up with a ton of rendering errors.

Normally with lots of GIFs my phone tries, freezes, buttons become unresponsive, then closes the browser window, load it back up, it then crashes out back to desktop and then when I load up it loads up my homepage.

Does not like it at all.
