First play. Game seems absolutely excellent but I'm amazed there have not been more critical posts regarding graphics. It looks fairly terrible on PS3 and reminds me why I rarely ever use my PS3. There is a beautiful game hiding beneath a load of horrible jaggy graphics.

I cannot wait for the PC version. It sucks that Rockstar make us play the Console versions first.

How close are you sitting to your TV? I noticed when I was right next to the TV (it's a 40"), that the game was really very jaggy, but I sit around 7-8 feet from it, and it looks amazing. Just wondered if you're a bit too close.

Protip: Trevor's special reduces fall damage.

It's fun jumping from a plane, going head first into the floor and then just walking away.

I noticed a big different between the SCART and HDMI with the graphics, so try HDMI if your not using it already and also check to settings in the main menu to make sure its 720p/1080p

What kind of lunatic would be using SCART on a PS3 anyway? :p.

Game looks quite good in certain places, mostly in terms of how impressive the world they've built is rather than a technical standpoint. But lets be honest, in particular if you're used to gaming on a mid to high end pc, the game in quite a few areas looks terrible in comparison. Framerate also takes some getting used to. I'm not using these to knock the game, I'd obviously prefer better but I don't feel like it's spoiling it for me, just saying the game is what it is. Viewing distance is probably the last factor that's deciding how good or bad GTA 5 looks.

Just wondering if it's worth throwing all the money at Goldcoast as early as you can or just prior to the last heist. I'm only done 1 heist and the stock is at $146 already.

I done the same, never thought it would acctually happen. Totally devastated got some saves so will go back and re-do it. Raging though.
Yeah me to. I spent all night since work completing the story mode just to have to replay it all again from a previous auto save.

Im new to ps3, it came with a 3 pin multiscart in the box so I used that to start with then I saw the HDMI in the settings so I got a cable and tried it out

I just posted that just incase others had the same issue

Whaaaaat?

I think it looks stunning. I am playing 1080p on a 50" and sat about 8ft away from the screen.

Some mind blowing scenery and details.

I am on the 360, which is ment to be a bit scaled down compared to the PS3.

I'm on ps3 and the tv I play on is only 20" I think and I sit about 3 feet away probably.

I think it's fair to say there certainly are rough edges. I can also notice a very slight but constant frame rate 'issue', which isn't really an issue (lack of a better word) as it doesn't take anything away from my enjoyment, but it is there. Also some low quality textures particularly on the ground, plus the aliasing as has been said numerous times.

I'm not a PC gamer but I can notice these things. BUT, the thing is, never has it detracted from my enjoyment of the game and the graphics on the whole. This is very old hardware, which was essentially old when it was 'brand new', and what they've managed to pull off for such a large scale, open game is great. The lighting is particularly nice.

So whilst rough edges are certainly there, I don't see why people moan as if they expected any different.

Personally I feel although it isn't the best graphics when compared to today's standard if this was released at PS3 / Xbox 360 launch, it would be amazing.

Even at today's standard its not bad!

Come on guys its on consoles that are 7 years old! I doubt anyone here are typing on computers with less than 2 GB of RAM :D
