OMG - I have to write 3 x papers!!!

The last thing I wrote was 70,000 words long. The next will be of similar length. Kill me now!

This works on at least two levels. Bravo, sir.

*Blushes*

Nice sig, by the way.

It does seem a bit harsh that you have three essays due in the same month if this is your first module. But your tutor is going to be very forgiving if this is an introductory course.

Not really, it's pretty standard for hand ins for various modules to be around the same time.

I was going to say MTFU, but then realised that you've been out of education.

The length is not high, and in fact you're probably going to struggle to get it down to to length.

Best advice I could give is to give it a rough structure, maybe headline each paragraph or content that you are going to write about then fill it in and make it flow nicely?

Feel free to send it over to me if you want a general proof reading (I'm not particularly hot on your subject). I would definitely go with something that has lots of information available. Might be a "safer" option, but it's far better to do that and have a load of decent referencing. :)

I know you say "it's only 3000" words, but I am hoping to make each word count ie no filler if possible!!

Anyway, I have penned my intro, my intent and structure and explained what Cyber Warfare is - i am up to 600 words.

I intend to use a good chunk on Stuxnet, but not sure how to finish yet!! I am thinking of a debate in that maybe there is a case for Cyber Warfare ie obtaining enemies secrets, targetting terrorist cells etc. Put across cases for both.

Thoughts?

Also, when you write your papers, do you have a template you use? Type over old stuff? Or start from sctrach each time?

It depends what I'm doing. Usually, if writing essays, I have a general structure which I follow (not a template, it's just how I write my essays), but nothing concrete.

You'll also find that at the start you'll be scratching around for 3000 words. Then by the time you're 2/3rds of the way through, you'll realise you're going way over the limit and will have to start cutting.

Sounds like something to get stuck into. Plan each one first, have a look at what you can do for each section and by the end you will be trying to condense them to fit the word count :)

1500 words isn't too bad, i do that in just over an hour for my history exams 12 pages of hand cramps and sweat but with a computer and like 3 months 2 do it i reckon with time to research you can write 6000 words in a week or two amoungst gaming :)

Writing up to the word limit isn't the difficult part, it gets tough when they are strict about the maximum word limit and you've somehow got to fit it all in under 1500 words and you've written 3000+.

For the last one do they want you to research and write about an investigation that has taken place on an actual incident, or are they wanting you to write about how one would carry out an investigation?

That was my thoughts! But i hope not as i am now 1500 words in and i have covered, introduction, what is cyber warfare, Stutnex and am looking at my conclusion - not much investigation going on!!

it's 3000, the other 2 are 1500.

But i am up to 2444, so getting there. Any essay writing professionals willing to take a look when i'm done?

show us all, it will be an interesting read on an interesting topic.

One thing be careful of plagiarism or over quoting massive chunks of text without reference. Dat not good.

600 words short!!!

Will re-visit tomorrow, but i feel much better hearing you all say 3000 words isn't much - it spurred me on and i've cracked most if in one day - i hope!

If you're crying about 1500, how are you going to feel when you get to the final year and have to do a (minimum) 15000 word dissertation?

Not sure where you're getting that from, mine was a 6k maximum. Which, to be fair, is stupidly low - I struggled to reduce it to that little!
