********* The Official GTA V (5) thread! *********

The game certainly comes alive once the nutjob comes into it. He is just a proper ruthless ******* aint he. Brilliant character!

Im now at the Yoga Mission with Micheal which is just No swearing - Davey me off. Silly missions like this is what annoyed me about GTA4.
Yeh that Yoga mission was one of the few' hurry up and finish this is boring and crap' moments for me. I didn't enjoy the flight school either. I just want to do missions!

The Trevor torture mission was a bit disturbing though!

I'm getting a bit bored now. Have not played for a couple of days so hopefully I will start enjoying again. I think I'm getting old but I find all the swearing and "N" this a bit tiresome tbh.

I had a few issues with some of the characters behaviour, I think some of the more repugnant stuff is a bit OTT, R* should have put more humour in. I love the game though and can't wait for online.

You realise it's a GTA game not Mario Kart, right? Not sure what you expected...

I've taken a few days off as I've had guests down... But my roommate still plays, in his room... All we hear is shouting, screaming, swearing.... Usually, stuff I find brilliant, but it all seems a bit much when you're sat outside of it.

That's one of the reasons I utterly hated playing as Franklin, almost every other word begins with N or if he's not saying that it's mother ****er or homie or dawwwwwg. It just grates on me, not because I find it offensive, I don't, it's just because it seems like he uses that as a substitute for actual meaningful dialogue.

The most boring mission for me was the
Knocking down the for sale signs lol. Having to look on the website to find them all, i was so bored after 5

The only way for quiet GTA 5 gaming is to get the PSN digital version which has streaming problems according to articles on the net

Well i guess my old ps3 slim must be one of the few that dont make any noise whilst playing gta5.

Also think the graphics are the best yet on PS3

Zero pop in i mean ZERO. Perhaps when i first loaded up the game on the odd occasion the textures would still be loading.. but now..in game theres none...no stuttering...no glitches, no blurring. This is a genuine technical marvel. Looks like a pc game to me.. (sitting about 6ft away mind) dont notice any jaggies... Love the sunsets..the rain..the thunderstorms.

5/5

I have the 160GB Slim and it's absolutely silent when playing games from the disk, bad luck for those using the Super Slim as I hear the drive is supposed to be stupidly loud.

Do NOT read if you have not completed:

So someone gave it away that a character dies at the end of the story missions, just wanted to check who and can I still do the side missions for that character once finished?

I don't want to do all the main missions and then ruin not doing every mission available.

If I play this on my 27" 2560x1440 monitor at 1080p up close it looks pretty bad with jaggies, but 6 foot away on my TV it looks amazing considering the age of the consoles.

The game looks poor up close on non native 720p monitors/screens, from a distance though the jaggies disappear and it actually looks beautiful, wonder what my PC games look like if I sit back :D

You get a choice of two characters to kill, but dont worry unless you particularly want to kill them or are a moron there is a 3rd option to choose where nobody dies. If you choose to kill one of the characters you lose them and their side missions forever.

Devin comes to Franklin's house and gives him three choices:

  • Kill Michael
  • Kill Trevor
  • Deathwish (Devin tells you if you disobey him and try to warn Michael or Trevor then you're as good as dead)
If you choose the deathwish option you get to save all three of the main characters. If you choose to kill either Michael or Trevor then you cannot play their side missions after the game ends, pretty sure that includes rampages if you kill Trevor too. Also, there are a handful of properties which can only be bought by a specific character, for example the taxi company can only be bought by Franklin etc.
