********* The Official GTA V (5) thread! *********

The way the characters talk is entirely in keeping with the type of people they are. It is not over the top or unrealistic. That's how people like that talk.

Bearing in mind they are the kind of people who shoot people in the face, murder innocents and have no issue with butchering prostitutes for fun.

I'll definitely purchase it again, if it came out on next gen first I'd buy it for better graphics/frame rate then would buy again on PC for mods and even better graphics/framerate. Rockstar deserve the money.

Pretty much covers it. R* is one of the few companies I do not mind giving money to. If they are doing a next gen release I would be happy with some higher res textures, some AA and a better framerate.

Whether they will release a full gta5 on next gen or a cut down gta online I don't know but I can't see them not doing something gta5 related on next gen.

I've had the same thought, it could easily be the easiest option for them, especially if the rumours of the microtransactions are true. They would make a lot of money with that.

Some of the micro-transaction rumours are a bit worrying. Especially the one that says you can buy in game cash..... I doubt they will do that though.

I don't see why they wouldn't, if GTA Online is going to be as big as they want it to be, they're going to need ways of getting money out of the people who keep playing it.

I thought a big feature of online was stealing. A situation where you can buy in game cash only for it to be actually stolen... Daily mail would have a field day!

Pay2Win what? There's nothing to win lol.

Its an online game playing with and against other players, therefore being able to buy weapon attachments and custom car parts gives you an advantage over a player with none of those. You paid for that advantage. Therefore, pay to win.

It's been detailed that you can't just buy money and then purchase everything... You have to level up to gain access to unlocks.

Any money you buy is transferred into ingame currency.

Therefore, anything you can 'Pay2Win' for, can also be bought in game.

The weapon attachments do very little in GTA, mostly cosmetics, weapons are cheap enough to buy without spending a penny, money can be stolen as well so I don't see why anyone would risk buying it. I won't spend a penny and I'd bet it's more fun that way too, owning the kids who used daddies credit card for nothing.

While this would be epic, there'd be too many people crying that their £10 item got stolen and that they didn't have time to read the T&C's.

It isn't about T&Cs really... I would love to play the game stealing in game money from people and stuff, as that is the game, but I don't actually want to steal their money, as I'm not a thief. I don't see how cash cards could work. If they do allow you to buy things, they should be cosmetic, and people should not be able to steal them.

I suppose they could sell a kind of credit card, that would be separate from your main stash, and unable to be stolen. It seems counterintuitive to the way the game is meant to be to me, but if they can fleece money from people, I'm sure they will try!

I'd love to go about stealing peoples money.

Microtransactions are inevitible nowadays with most online games, I'm sure Rockstar will implement it in a way that doesn't really affect the experience.

Sorry for the dodgy pic of a TV screen, taking a selfie didn't show the full ensemble :D

Thats the entire point of pay to win. Yes you can buy something if you spend ages leveling up and saving money, or you can unlock it now by paying real money and gain an instant advantage.

Is it just because this game is made by the almighty do no wrong Rockstar that nobody seems to have a problem with this? Ill bet if it was an EA game people would be much more up in arms.
