What would you do?
Does going to Dubai include having a job already lined up? If this is the case I would seriously consider leaving your current job when you have it in writing you have one in Dubai. Based on your feelings for your current job this seems like reasonable action. Make sure you serve notice in time to leave for Dubai and have a bit of time off before.
Phone in sick? What's the period for being signed off by the doc now 9 days?
How long have you been there?
And come back with a killer tan? I suppose I could stay out of the sun.
Stay off on the sick > Go to Dubai > Sort things out to re-locate and line up job interviews > Come home, Quit > Go back to Dubai > Get job > Don't look back
you can go on Holiday when you have stress as it is deemed an attempt to get your self better.
Or just quit anyway and go.
Walk in to his office and take a dump on his desk.
It will show him you're the alpha male and not to be messed with. He'll immediately respect you as the real boss and give you six weeks off.
Afternoon all,
Basically I hate my job, I dread every single working day here. I feel emotional all the time, waking up during the night, can't switch off on my days off etc. I've just had enough.
I have an opportunity to go to Dubai for a week with the potential of relocating there at a later date.
Today my request for annual leave has been declined because other staff members are on annual leave for the 5 weeks running up to my request and in my bosses words 'he will have his balls handed to him on a plate for allowing it'.
This for me isn't a valid reason. No-one else is on annual leave, it is purely because we are under staffed and have been for the last year.
What would you do?
An if he still says no you need to to start throwing your faces in his face! That'll learn him!!!
I was under the impression that if you are wanting PAID leave then the company holds all the cards and can dictate when you have them but if you want to take the leave UNPAID then they cant do anything about it?
