AMD Radeon R9 290X with Hawaii GPU pictured, has 512-bit 4GB Memory

We're obviously not going to hear what the audio system can do when it was mixed down to stereo/mono for live transmission. But the event is for the press people there, not us.

Come on guys, they can't really get loads of press sent out to Hawaii for a 3 minute presentation saying the prices and scores in benchmarks...

Any audio people here tell me if this new audio will be compatible with my current system?

I have the panny bt490 it's hdmi 5.1 and it's compatible with all the current best audio formats.

I'm inclined to agree but if that was a standard firestrike score then why is my £230 7950 beating a new top of the line gpu? It has to be extreme.

EDIT

I also heard that fart.

They put the 280X @around 6800 mark, what is about right for a stock 7970....the 780 also scores @stock around the 8k mark, i think its around 8200-8500 depending on boost clock.

You're comparing overclocked against stock, and if you're running a 40% overclock against a generation jump of 25% you're going to win! :D :D

Not sure on stock Titan scores, gotta be just shy of 9k though.

Anyone else think this might be one of many techs shown tonight to use the compute power of the AMDs

I feel this could be more of s game changer than some on here are joking about

Especially if the consoles implement it
