AMD Radeon R9 290X with Hawaii GPU pictured, has 512-bit 4GB Memory

Seeing some early bench results in the 3DMark threads, it does look like these cards will be the faster or possibly equal to Titans/780's however, on saying that, they do look like they need water to do that and a fair chunk of voltage but custom cards could be the telling point. I can see a binned chip on a Lightning under water beating out a Titan with little effort.

For the consumers, this is great news and AMD fans have a top top card at a fair price and the Nvidia fans have a top top card at a fair price, so win win for the consumer.

It's a piece of pee to get a reference 290X quicker than a Titan (on air obviously) on the reference cooler. If you're comparing apples to apples it's quicker more often than not! It's an awesome card

Nothing else other than I like impulse buying and playing with new trinkets :). Curiosity got the better of me after all the run up to this card and I wanted to see what it offered.

It's not worth selling up 3 Titans for the sake of a few frames and benchmark scores! They've served me well enough for almost a year and they're amazing cards regardless of the limbs sold to purchase them.

Saying that I may sell up for the Ti :D lol.

If I had 3 TITANS I wouldn't of touched anything till 20nm. It's nice playing with new toys but it's also a faff on if you're not intending to keep them.

I have 560ti, i loved Nvidia cause of drivers but i want to try something new so I'm going for 2 R290X it's totally up to you guys Gtx 780 and R290X are amazing cards that will run anything on MAX :)

Also i'm looking into Crossfire so 4GB instead of 3 is always 1GB more for games in 2014-15 :)! and i was really interested in Mantle so that's another reason! :)

Nvidia <3
AMD <3
