last regret/satisfied game purchases

Recent best: Splinter cell Blacklist.
Loved it all the way through and was gutted when I finished.

Recent worst: Remember me.
I tried to like, I really tried!

Snap!

Recent Best: Dishonored
Recent Worst: ARMA III

Although, I never bought Dishonored cos it makes me use Steam, and Steam locks me out my games whenever I go offshore which is unfknacceptable.

I would love to declare this on Steam's own forums but I am banned (for declaring something similar). I did however buy ARMA III which is also on Steam, difference here is that I will only play that on my desktop with constant internet connection anyways. Unfortunately ARMA III is a complete train wreck as things stand.

Arma3 isn't released it's still in beta, and when you bought it, it was alpha so what do you expect?

For me it has to be Hitman absolution, can't even be bothered to finish it. Dislike pretty much everything about it. Doesn't feel like a hitman game at all.

Recent best: Sleeping Dogs. Actually feel bad I waited for it to be a fiver. Such a brilliant game.

Recent Worst: Resi 6. Done Leons mission and half of chris' and I just dont see myself ever going back. I think its finally killed off Resi for me. 5 was awful but 6 just took it too far.

I was really disappointed with Rome 2 - it started off ok but just fell down the point I just won't bother with it unless drastic changes are made.

The last game I got that really hit the mark was Wargame:Airland Battle a really unsung game that most people who play seem to really enjoy.

Recent Best: Borderlands 2, can't believe I took this long to get the game, I've managed to rack up 264 hours already and I've had it for 2 months.

Recent Worst: Alien Colonial Marines at full price. This game made me change all my gaming purchase habits, unless it's Half Life 3 or GTA 5 I'm never ever pre-ordering again.

The last game I really regret buying is Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. I think it is awful. Antoher one is Saints Row the Third...how they managed to make such a free-roaming game full of mayhem and destruction so boring is beyond me

The last game that surprised me is probably Hotline Miami, which I only bought about 2 months ago, I find it very addictive. Sleeping Dogs is another game that was much better than I thought. It has quality all the way through it.

I bought a PS3 a few months back, and have been disappointed with quite a few of the games I have bought for that tbh.

Edit- I forgot, Spec Ops: The Line is a game that really surprised me as well. A bit of a sleeper hit.

Thomas was alone - Beautiful game

Dissapointment - Bioshock Infinite, still playing it as near the end, total bore fest.

Recent Best: Tomb Raider.
Recent Worst: Tomb Raider.

This game and its intrusive cut scenes and FQTEs make my blood boil. But the exploration and shooting parts are really fun. So as I play, I'm oscillating between near-rage-quitting and joy. Fortunately the irritating stuff gets less frequent the deeper you get into the game (but that might mean it hits you harder when it rears its ugly head again)

Going back a bit further.
Worst game of recent years: Aliens Colonial Marines, no need to explain why.
Best game of recent years: Serious Sam 3. Wonderfully frantic old-school shooter with modern graphics.

Pre ordering Rome Total War II.

It wasn't anywhere near finished upon release.

A million times this.

Awful. I was so hyped as well as Total War is my favourite series of games :( . They butchered most of what was good about Total War and added in loads of stupid features no one wanted.

Also, Hitman Absolution, that was awful.

Recent best: Dishonoured, Tomb Raider

Spell Force 2: Gold Edition

I tried a demo of it a long time prior, and decided not to go further for a single player game.

It appeared in sale and friends said about getting it for multiplayer. I stated my hesitance about it, but we got it anyway.

Needed to use Hamachi, and hated game mechanic even more in multiplayer. Was too frantic for a strategy for me, and lacked intuitive structure. Also the setting and aesthetics didn't
appeal/were below par.

As for the opposite, I've been really impressed with Borderlands 2. It has exceeded my expectations after player DLC free BL1.

Not been swayed to buy the DLC, but the base game is so well crafted and polished. Except the annoying bug when navigating inventory and bank and cursor goes wild requiring you to exit screen.

And unlike BL1 I've been interested enough to try playing all the characters to completion.

(Not so) Recent disappointment was probably Gran Turismo 5 on PS3. I just don't like the sim gameplay and spent £36 on it.

Borderlands 2 was probably my most recent game I've enjoyed a hell of a lot and considering I only spent around £11 for the game + all main DLC means I got an absolute steal!

Had a few underwhelming titles since GT5 but since I always wait for games to be on sale these days they're not something I massively regret.

You bought by far the most realistic driving sim on the consoles and then was disappointed that it was a driving sim? :D

Best recent purchase: Borderlands 2. Started off hating it, totally addicted after a few hours tho.

Worst recent purchase: GTA V. They ****ed up the driving, which is the most important bit. PS3 is back in the cupboard and I have no intention of playing it any more.

When it gets released for the PC, and somebody mods the driving so it takes some skill again, I might pick it up for PC.

I've never really played driving sims before so went off the reviews and all that and just didn't get on with it :p.

Really? The driving was terrible in GTA IV. It's GTA, not GT6!

Last best game purchase I made was Castlevania Lords of Shadow on steam. The game has its shortcomings, but its atmosphere, story direction, music and the plight of the main character was really powerful. I'm so glad I purchased it as it really pulled me into the world. It's been a very long time since a game or even a movie has done that.

Can't wait for the sequel.

Rome 2, such a huge disappointment, I can forgive dodgy AI etc but the performance was abysmal.

My most satisfied game is probably Guns of Icarus Online.
