*** The Official Sony Xperia i1 'Honami' Thread ***

Not over reacting at all, people have different preferences on what they like about a phone. I'm used to AOSP and I'm sure I'd love the Z1 with an AOSP ROM on it.
It's not a bad phone by any stretch!

Anyone heard anything about Cyanogenmod for the Z1?
I've had mine less than a day and not even bothered taking it out of the house or removing the plastics as it's a little underwhelming if I'm honest. Either looking at a stock Android experience on it or it's going on eBay!

Give it a month and CM will be on it.

I have the option to upgrade to this from my iPhone 4s. Never had a Android phone, what will I expect from this. I use my phone a lot for whatsapp/e-mails/internet/music. I need 32gb minimum will it expand to 32gb?

My missus upgrade was today, after messing around in cpw she decided on the Z1, the build quality and screen are beautiful, makes my N4 seem dated.

Typing this using the Z1, will report back on battery life.

It will do what you want with ease. Only 16GB on board. Takes 64GB memory card ~£40.

The only issue with this phone IMO is that it's too big for a 5" screen. Too much bezel.

Had a lot of look at reviews on youtube of the Z1. Then went to CPW and had a play. Got to say as nice a phone as it looks, the screen lets it down, camera isn't really a 'wow' factor for me. I'll miss out on it and get the 5s.

I don't blame you.

If this had the screen from the GS4 and body size of the ZL - thus would be a killer handset.

I didn't have time but I'm sure I saw a note 3 from far there. The screen on that looked so amazing and vibrant.

The sony is a great device, very fluid and quick. Just the screen so badly lets it down. As soon as the screen goes off centre the colours look washed out. It's a pity as I was contemplating a move to Android.

I need to look at the Note 3, that's my next bet looks to be a great phone.

I'd be tempted to wait until Tuesday and try an LG G2 if the screen on the Z1 doesn't float your boat Vita, its fantastic.

Agreed, the LG G2 screen is amazing. My only complaint is that the notification bar can get cluttered up a lot by default, the people at XDA have released fixes for this though.

Had another go at the Z1, I'm guessing the first phone I used was borked. The Z1's screen isn't too shabby, and off centre viewing actually wasn't too bad. It could do with more brightness but it's actually a nice phone.

I viewed the forum on it using Chrome, but some posts had large fonts and some posts had small? Is this a problem with the browser it's self or the phone?

Ah that's a shame. The Sony Z1 does seem like a contender, it's either that or the note 3. The note 3's size is just too large for everyday use I feel.

What can I put on the SD card for the Z1, photos/movies/music? Apps?

Yeah it's just a chrome fault on certain websites. There loads of browsers to choose from on Android.

I set a single browser up for forums by boosting text size so I can view it in portrait:

I use chrome for normal website viewing - just not forums.

Use the sd cards for media - no use for apps without rooting.

That's fine, music/videos/pics can go on the sd card as I seem to carry a lot of them.

Next question is, note 3 or Z1? I'm unsure what I want. I do prefer the note 3's screen, but prefer the way the sony looks. The samsung also can record in 4k which is a nice bonus, but I like the UI of the sony, it seems less cluttered then the samsung touchwiz. The 5" screen seems more natural the 5.7" seems rather on the large side.

I'm really unsure. :(

To me the 4k is a bit of a gimmick- there's very few screens that can play it back and the lens will certainly let it down. I'd go for the sony personally, touchwiz has always looked horrendous to me
