Damn, really? I tried to take a picture to explain what i mean:

I was joking ;)
Of course it will be fine, its just rubber.

Me mates just fitted a new shimano zee clutch mech and there is nigh on n difference between the clutch being on and off. The jockey wheels move just the same. Is the mech faulty or what?

Clutch mechs have nothing to do with the jockey wheels. The clutch is to stop the cage bouncing around when riding so the lower part of the chain is kept under tension and stays quieter/improves retention.

Got a clutch mech recently myself and couldn't tell you the difference between it and the standard mech I was previously running. The cage lock feature helps getting the wheel on & off though.

By jockey wheels moving i meant in the cage as a whole. Just had a brain lapse n couldnt describe. The cage moves just as free with the clutch on as it does off. I have no first hand experience of a working clutch mech so i cannot compare but the way people have been raving about clutch mechs i thought me mates should be doing more than it is!

The yours is fubarred mate.
Also, the cage locked will make the wheel harder to take off.

When the clutch is on, the jockey wheel cage becomes near rigid when you pull it towards the chainring. Switch it off, and then it moves more freely again. If it does not do this, then your mech is either broken or needs tensioning (if that's possible)

Been offered a morewood shova as a part ex for my demo. They any good for trail riding? Link to bike is here : would change the forks thoughhttp://m.pinkbike.com/buysell/1406286/

Not a good trade tbh mate.
That Shova is quite an old bike, with a crappy spec.

Look to trade someone for something like a Orange Alpine / Nukeproof Mega / Specialized Enduro etc

Forgot to add.
Unless its a SRAM clutch mech...they are a bit pants and you dont really feel the difference all that much.

Yeah, mines SRAM. No difference to a standard derailleur as far as I can tell, apart from the button that allows you to lock the cage forward for wheel installation/removal.
