Went a wee 20 miles in the dark there. Quite a buzz flying along with the back wheel sliding around in mud and just being like lolracedriver and controlling it.

I can confrim that my Madison trail softshell jacket is bloody warm!

Any of you guy's have a guide for servicing my front forks? My lockout on my rst omegas are permanently locked and don't know why? I must admit that they are not great forks and I left them in the lockout position for some time and today I went over my local forest (langdon hills) for a bit of a burn and the downhill sections were a nightmare with the forks locked. If it is better to get them serviced, How much would it cost?

Also, I am starting to get more into mountain biking and at present I have the Jamis Durango 2 2011 bike (not the best but only cost me £200) and I would like some advice on getting a good bike (Hardtail) with a decent front fork. Would have a budget of £600-£800, So what would you guy's recommend? I would be wanting to use more forest trails and some downhill when I get the confidence. Much appreciated in advance.

Teejay take a look at On One bikes. The 456 I think is now £899, but the Inbred can be had for £699 and I really don't see how you can beat that for the price, especially brand new.

PS: Steel is real.

I do like the inbred and the parts seem like good quality, More so when I compare them to my current bike, Though after a little thought I think I should look to keep my current ride as I continue to get to grips with mountain biking (not really keen on trashing a £700 bike until I have more confidence in my ability). I would probably look to get the forks sorted and stick with what I have for now and then maybe move to a short travel susser...Seen this Giant and reviews seem to be quite good http://www.pedalon.co.uk/acatalog/giant-anthem-x3.html Still will wait around until I have a bit more experience. Thanks for the heads up on the On One Bikes...Will keep them in mind ;)

So any one gone 11 speed yet? I'm constantly on bike-discount.de checking the prices.
I nearly raged yesterday on my bike when the front mech got jammed up with crap.

Do what he says! I just got myself a custom built up 456 and the bike is class! That's coming from a 2013 Cube Analog which isn't too shabby either.

what would you say is a good bike at the moment for around £750? Hard tail for cross country, can spend up to a grand if it's really worth it. It's for a friend, he's not a hardcore rider by any stretch!

Thanks,

Tom.

See the post above yours, the 456 looks a great bike, i have been tempted by a carbon one for a while.

mine (c456) is still going strong after nearly 2 years now. Used as a 1 x 10, 120mm HT. it's great for local runs and pottering around the local area with my wee lad.

If he is wanting something that can do a bit more than XC in case, the 456 I find very hard to be beaten on value, if he doesn't want anything more than XC then the Inbred is also extremely good value for the money.

Compared to the UK sites it certainly is a good saving on bike-discount. I especially like how they have the x01 and xx1 cassette at the same price.
I would go with X01 as much as possible where there is money to be saved, except the cranks where i would like the option of the 28t ring, but would probably go for a 32t to start with.
