Ever Hated Your Job?

I made the bad choice of taking a job in the family business for which I have no interest in and desire to pursue. At the time I was a little low and thought that I should be great full and take the job but it was decision I now regret.

I coped okay-ish for 2 years but lately it's becoming more unbearable and tedious, it feels like Groundhog day with the same old annoying ****. I often savour the days when there's not much to do but it's just been a constant flow of crap lately that I've just become sick to stomach of. There are some clients you wish would just disappear overnight.

Leaving would mean some big changes which is why I haven't done anything but I know I've got to get out for my own sake.

Don't you just hate it when someone you haven't seen for years bumps into you and says like "hiya mate, what you up to these days"
and all you can think of replying is

"Yea, same ****, different day"

(had one of those days yesterday). :o

Literally nothings changed, live in the same place, work for the same company, done nothing noteworthy. Feel rather sad when you look back and think WTF am I still doing here.

Been in my job in a high street bookies for nearly 6 months now and starting to get really sick of it. Good parts are the staff, and its easy, a lot of the time can just chill and watch sports on tv. Bad part is watching people throw away money every day, and a lot of them don't look like they can afford it. Oh and the company cares absolutely nothing for its staff so Im already looking for a new job, got interview in a couple of days actually :)

the thought of my job makes me physically sick but the moneys to good to leave :(

This.

And this.

Working for this forums favourite newspaper is no fun!!!!!!

Am a field service guy in semiconductor equipment. When the tools not working and the customers on your back its the worst job in the world but when you fix it and look like a superstar its the best.
Highs and lows

I had to take calls for a big energy company to verify their field sales guy got the prices correct on his laptop, it was so tedious and dull, the same thing every call a few hundred times a day... When i first walked into the place i wondered why there was 2p's and bits of paper over the bottom right corner of most computer screens, its there to cover the clock on the taskbar :(

Left after a month, couldn't take the mindless repetitiveness.

After that I worked for a big bank doing customer service. Even with the bank charges calls and angry/clueless people/nonsensical performance targets it was still a million times better because it was less tedious.

i've only hated my job since 2004 when I went full time and not going to Uni nor proceeding with the A level's I gained at college.

Food retail for you, been stuck since 1998 (15 years) the company was good to work for back in the day. But lack of staff and more jobs/pressure i've given up n just do what i need each day to live and pay bills.

I've only ever had 1 job (the one im at) and can't seem to get anywhere with my CV

Just glad i found a hobby (Photography) which is becoming a sideline fairly slowly and an extra income

saying this ... 8am - 5pm today

so booring!

Walked in this morning, feeling physicaly sick from my lack of wanting to be here.

I ****ing hate this company:mad::mad:. Got an interview soon with RBS and im applying for apprenticeships at various engineering firms and other places.

Allnamestaken I am delighted.

You have inertia. When the force that is keeping you in this crappy job is overcome by your desire to pursue those 3 dream things you will move forwards.

It is your responsibility, you have the ability to respond. It is up to you when on the Allnamestaken calendar you choose to make that start at A to reach Z. When are you going to do it, in 2013, in 2014?

Don't be the red pacman, be the blue one :p

No need to leave under a cloud, be your own man. See it for what it is - a **** job. It is an opportunity to be patient and get cracking on something positive that you're passionate about, and leave the losers behind.

The best revenge is to lead a good life.

We have all felt ******, you are entirely normal Names. We all feel better in time and so will you, there is a silver lining and how many posts are in this thread? People want to see you do well.

Chin up, strength and honor - smile at your computer screen, are you smiling?
Good

Question, who do you speak to in the real world? You need to talk to them, tell em about it - a problem shared is two people with a problem, once you have said it to someone who's opinion matters - you have to get cracking or you look a plonker.

:D

:P haha its okay double the message to get it in my head :p.

Really appreciate your replies :).
Also everyone elses in here! I speak to people in the real world, and have some friends who are as ambitious as I am and make me feel a little better.
The job itself though, I am surrounded by negativity which also has increased my utter hatred which is why Ive felt like I have.

Within the next year ill be posting good stories for sure :p.

Done

And I hate my job with a passion. I've been trying to get out of it for ages now but it's not the company that's the problem, it's my chosen career.

Unfortunately, I don't know how to do anything else so I'm kind of stuck.

This

I start a new job in a couple of weeks, but I know I'm going to be just as unhappy there most likely. I just hate my line of work now, but unfortunately the money is just too good to leave
