A Z4M to be precise.

Such a different drive from the Mini which I had for 7 years. Picked the Z4 up this afternoon, so only just done a handful of miles but it's such a fun car, the noise when high up the rev range is quite addictive. The noise of the Mini's supercharger was fun, so I'll miss that.

Just a couple of phone cam picture for now. I'll get some better ones at some point:

New sig required now!!

One of the finest engines on the planet, sadly not something you will see much of I suspect as the world continues to move towards turbos :(

Enjoy it, CSL wheels.

Yup, turbos and fuel economy is the way forward. I don't do mega miles so thought I'd sample this engine. Hopefully it won't be too much thirstier than the Mini which wasn't the best anyway!

I do love CSL wheels but everyone with a Z4 seems to be running them.

Very nice. Head over to z4-forum.com for loads of good advice during your ownership. I see it has the BMW spoiler. Many other options?

As an owner of one myself I'm bias, but I think they offer pretty good value for the performance on offer if you have a well looked after example which this looks to be.

As housey says, CSLs look good on the car and then there's the common low cost mods like a stubby aerial, ZHP gear knob and CDV removal.

How are you finding the notoriously notched 1st to 2nd gear change?

Thanks guys. Already signed up on z4-forum. I'm sure it'll be helpful.

Already put the stubby aerial on! The gear change from first to second does certainly take some getting used to. On the test drive I was kangarooing at every junction! Seems some people say you get used to it, so I'll see before I do the CDV removal.

Seems quite well spec'd too. Sat nav, cruise, MFSW, CD changer, auto dipping mirrors, electric folding mirrors, I'm sure there's more too!

I'll get rid of the Silverstone sticker when I give it a clean.

I think you will get used to the gear change so good idea to live with it for a while. Best thing I did was put an empty first aid storage box under the drivers seat. Not much space in the cabin so every little extra helps! If you've got the sat nav then intravee is the best option for digital media integration.

Nice. Heated seats?

That's another one it's got!!

Was looking at intravee, but the Dice Mediabridge MB1500 looks pretty good too.

Not turned DSC off yet, too used to just mashing the accelerator with FWD cars - this is my first RWD car.

Contrary to popular belief, RWD does not mean you'll instantly go through a hedge backwards, but I would recommend leaving DSC on for a while to get the feel. I assume that if you've only had FWD then 330+ bhp is a new experience too?

Enjoy it, learn its foibles and have lots of fun safely. While it's not as pure a driving experience as a Porsche I think it has it's own unique gruff charm. I prefer it to the Boxster I had even though objectively I can see the Porsche is the better drivers car.

i am incredibly incredibly jealous!

:o Thanks!

The Mini had around 220bhp but was quite sure footed and would just understeer. I'll just have to be careful since the good weather is on the way out that the roads will be getting worse.

I was contemplating a Boxster S, but prefer the looks of the M and quite like the idea of a more rough and ready drivers' appeal.
