And selling a product which doesn't function is wrong. The infrastructure isn't a waste if it's used, which it would be in the early stages. Capacity can be later tailored as demand thins out. Sure it means you don't get the tasty low cost rates offered by a long term hosting contract but thats the price of making sure your product actually works, isn't it?

It is completely unacceptable that it doesn't work - this isn't a beta, we didn't get a discounted copy to account for the fact a major portion of the game is unavailable.

+1

I am going to email watchdog about this!!!

Managed to get into a a solo game and I'm supposed to line up to race but nothing happens, take it people are having the same problem?

Yes. It's a pile of **** quite frankly. I could understand if it was like this on release day but they've had 2 weeks to calculate player numbers and set up servers in preperation. I assume any devs working prior to this release are, instead of fixing the problem, sitting by their new pools drinking prosecco.

Folks, I've just fired my Xbox up for the first time today and it wants to install the 59mb update, presumably for the online ability. It's giving me the option to change storage device and point it to where I want the update installed to. I installed the 'install' disc to the 360 hard drive and then installed the 'Play' disc to a 16gb USB stick.

So where should I install the update? Xbox HD or USB drive?

Ta.

HDD i assume, on account of R* assuming you're running disk 2 from the disk.

I managed to get a good 2 hours of online in before and I have to say, I'm by no means blown away. Obviously, this is a brief first impression but it does feel much closer to red dead online rather than this wondrous persistent world they hyped up. I'm not saying that this is a bad thing, it definitely isn't, it just doesn't feel as lively as it should. It doesn't even feel as lively as the single player due to the lower traffic density and pedestrian density.

It's almost certainly a game that I will pop on for a few hours a week but I doubt it will grab my attention like I imagined.

Does it have online mayhem like GTA4? Drive to airport, blow **** out of each other, drive-bys etc etc????

I have gave up trying to get online for today.

Well I drove by 4 people having a fairly large shoot-out with the cops, As I sped past I did a 180 back toward them and went side on into 2 cop cars crushing two of the players who then got up and shot the hell out of my infurnus :( :D

I didn't go down to the airport so not sure if you get a wanted level or anything but if you don't I can see it being a bit of a mess down there lol

I eventually got to play after about an hour of trying and it's great fun,did a couple of missions retrieving a drug package and another retrieving a car. Then just robbed a few shops and a petrol station, got 10k :) Hopefully will of settled down by the weekend so we can have some OCUK fun :D

Think over the next couple of days I'm going to roam around Blaine county robbing stores to level up and get a bit of cash to buy better weapons etc,it's mayhem down in the south of the map where everybody seems to be.Noticed an 8 space garage in Blaine for 65 k :)

Launching session.

Going by the length of time this session is taking to launch, I'm expecting big things! :p

I want some of the stuff that is in online for SP.

Car insurance.
10 car garage.
Bigger map, instead of a zoomed out map for a few seconds.

All mega-useful but not to be seen in SP. lol

How many players are there in the sessions? 16 sounds a bit knaff

I thought this at first but if it was 32 or something it would just make performance even worse, lower graphics even more and even less AI cars and peds. Hopefully a next gen or PC release raises the online numbers though.
