GTA V Multiplayer thread (360, XBOX ONE, PS3 and PS4)

Had a few hours this morning and tried out a few things to see how it was for me. Yesterday I posted about not having any issues and this morning I logged in straight away to online, went back to single player for 10 mins., logged back into online had a few mins running around and did a few missions. logged back into single player for a while and back into online. No issues here at all.

I am on VM 20mb and xbox live I live in derby, not sure if location has anything to do with it.

got into missions, races and deathmatches right away no messing around or waiting. Its been like this for me since 9am Tuesday morning apart from an hour or so in the afternoon of tuesday when I had to retry to log in after a bit it did and its been fine since.

The online game is, to me very good. R* said its easy making money but im finding it hard I constantly have 23k there abouts and do missions etc, bank it but when your killed you have some deducted from your bank. Never carry any cash due to being robbed after being killed. I was going to buy a garage for 23k but I really want to save up for a house or apartment.

Still haven't managed to play it but from what I've seen so far there seems to be quite a few features that R* talked about that don't appear to be in the game. What happened to the leader getting the cash from the mission and then choosing how it is distributed?

That is in the game. Once you do a shop robbery and evade the fuzz you can press 'back' button on xbox and select inventory and cash then it says give to player or split with people who you did a job with, you then have a different percentages to give.

Its not necessarily the leader of a gang/group/partnership its whoever picks the bag of cash after robbing a store/petrol station that has the option of splitting the money.

As for other things that R* said was in the online game they become unlocked once you reach certain levels. I recently unlocked parachuting missions. The first thing I did was get in a chopper and fly to central LS and bail out, release chute and descend I had a friend online and he got a pickup truck thing and we tried to work together to get me to land on it. I failed. Very good fun nonetheless.

So confused by GTA Online. I tried really hard to get into it last night (although my character seems to be have wiped now!)

What I don't get is the mission / job distinction. All me and some mates wanted to do last night was do a load of the co-op missions. However, the stars on the map seems to represent a mix of last man standing / race/ deathmatch style modes. So why are these called missions?? I can't seem to find any obvious way of filtering out co-op stuff only and we've only managed to do one so far and it was very basic. How do you do stuff like rob the C130 from Merryweather?

For a forum of supposedly-knowledgeable tech people, it's rather disappointing that so many apparently expected the game to work flawlessly from the very first moment.

I haven't even tried the online yet and I doubt I will for at least a few more days, it was obvious there'd be problems.

I dread to think what the whining will be like on here after the Xbox One and PS4 launches.

Finally got on last night just started doing the tutorial missions. Definately less traffic and NPC's but I don't think it will be that noticable once you get a group together. My only complaint so far is you can get killed while doing the tutorials. Joined a server and there was 3 players in one car driving round wit smg's killing people :( no way can you defend against that with just a pistol.

Also the steal a car tutorial where you get the tracker fitted for free, are you stuck with that car? As the mission prompt didn't say you would be but by the fact you get the tracker fitted I think you are which is **** as it didn't mention it so I stole the first car I came across which was a slow rust bucket :(

This is in the online game isn't it? In the tutorial section it tells you to hold up a store and after the prompt came up about holding 'back' (assume 'select' on ps3) to share the score.

See me above post, i edited it. :-) You start off with basic races, TDM, FFA DM, Missions (collect cars/drugs etc and deliver them to a certain point). Shops and Petrol station are open for robbing from the start too. I guess bigger missions will become open once you get to higher levels and the patches/dlc comes out.

I got online last night as well. Played the tutorial, did a couple of missions then joined a deathmatch etc. Had about 15k and then when tried to get back to free roam, it told me my character save was corrupted.

So looks like starting all over again!

To be fair the game has had an extra 4 + weeks to develop the online (from game being finished > online release) They should have gauged the traffic better.

However I havent really had any problems with it and I've quite enjoyed it, I just don't understand how a game can get 10/10 reviews with a key feature not yet being finished (imagine cod/halo/other came without online!)

Inb4 this post makes me "sad" and "no patience" etc.

Seems like a backwards step from GTA IVs online to me when it come to co-op stuff right now. Like you say though, hopefully the more you rank up the more co-op is unlocked.

Also, is there cops n crooks mode in this? If not, WTF?

Bit different though, most people but CoD or BF or whatever these days for the online component in the first place, whereas (until now) it's never really been a particular focus in GTA. By rights, GTA: Online probably deserves to be reviewed separately, seeing as R* are trying to treat it as a separate entity. You can't deny the game a 10/10 score just because the online aspect hasn't been released yet, and nobody was going to delay publishing their review by two weeks.

All this trouble with the online multiplayer makes me glad that I didn't rush through the single player. Still got a few missions to finish on that...

Working better for me today.

Had no loading problems with matchmaking, and have done some proper coop stpry based missions today. Just need to rank up to unlock more, just had to steal an rv from by sandy shores and kill quite a few enemies! Good fun

Why can't we expect perfection for our collective billion+ dollars?

Because, not matter how much money you have things will always go wrong / issues that were not foreseen.

Give them a break, its not like this is a online only game. So what it will take a week or so for them to sort it out, youll soon forget the issues in a months time!

Take the car back to LS Customs, pretty sure you can uncheck the tracker from the car.

EDIT:The golf course unlocked at level 6 or 7 so i played a solo round and got about 3/4 of a level from it :p

So my car is insured, they mention something about being able to get it back when you lose it. How? I can't see anything in my phone for it.

There should be a contact in your phone. It's pointless anyway as whenever you dial it, it just says no-one is available to answer

So how did you manage to do the co-op stuff? Where is the mission?

Played 3 hrs last night online, got past the first race which i won and was on the world record!

My first review is the same as other's its empty and when there are tonnes of police about the traffic/peds nearly goes down to 0. All i was doing is roaming and robbing shops it gets tedious, plus you get this stupid auto track to the Last Man Standing, what if i just want to roam goddamit.

Honestly you are not missing much if you can't get on, it gets booring fast. How do you get to the Coop Missions? do you have to complete LMS and TDM?
