Virgin Media Discussion Thread

Also hard to believe.

The only way you are getting it for that price is

You work for them.

You have tv etc also, but are taking the full price into account for that and deducting the total savings on you bill solely onto the broadband part.

Freak of nature

You are telling porkies.

I've been with VM since the early NTL days.

currently on 120meg & M Phone. paying less than £21/month

I'm on the same deal:

That is one thing I don't like about Virgin - their hugely different pricing. Some people get great deals (and good on them) and others pay substantially more - like me.... Maybe I'll cancel as well, and either get a better deal or in fact move to Infinity. Still, I do get a good half price deal on Sky TV....

Anytime I try and run multiple torrents they all seem to slow each other down, its weird. I don't mean they equally spread out the bandwidth, more like instead of getting 14mpbs (very rarely!) across 5 torrents, I will end up with like 8mb max.

I have just called and cancelled my M phone connection as I never used it. Now I only have 60Mb BB at around £27pcm.

I have just come out of contract so it looks like I will be threatening to leave soon. If I can get the same deal as Sid-P I would be ecstatic.

Have you tried limiting your upload speed? Uploading a near full speed cripples my download.

I've left TBB graph running for some time now and the results seem very consistent based on the line's usage. This area is good for 120Mb and I almost always get 15MB/s.

Thinking about ringing up to upgrade to 120MB. How have people managed to get these discounts? Did you ring up threatening to leave and they offered them or did they just offer them anyway when you wanted to upgrade/take it out?

They will never offer you anything decent right away. I always say I'm thinking of moving to Infinity. I mean I could, the cabinet is like 15m from the house, but I'm quite happy with this, so till now, I always went for loyalty discount.

I can reset my share ratio to 7.785 at anytime (modified the share ratio on Vuze, reset via batch file :D)

Helps get closer to the front of the line for better speeds.

Anyone in Plymouth area ? Really slow 120mb running in the evening at around 20mb, fault wont be fixed until at the earliest March 2014. WTF ?
