Got to be a little careful here as the man himself is eight times bigger than I am and surgical collars never come in my colour. I was reading this just now with interest and wondered why the cases are so big. Clearly from the images they could be much much smaller. However I may be missing the point here. He's big, an 8 pack is desirable and so the case follows suit. However I also think the builds could be, christ I swear I can hear an ambulance now, neater! For the premium prices one has to pay to have the performance and the semmingly unfaultable service that follows the sale, I would have expected to see, preformed tubing or copper for the water loops and better hidden or routed cabling. I also think I can see a great number of adapters and extensions. I charge between £100 and £200 for a PC build depending on what is asked for and will custom make all the cables from the PSU and those to the fans. I have even in the past opened a PSU and rotated the IEC connector so the right angle plug hardwired in the RV03 will fit.
You can clearly see here that the IEC plug will not make it. It is too short and would be twisted.
Here the IEC has been removed and reconnected upside down. Now it fits perfectly - just as it should have in the first place.
In this HDD caddy, the position has been changed and a completely custom cable loom made to the right length and spacing needed.
I provide a full year of backup on all my systems and will sort out warranty issues as I keep the receipts. There are risks with mods like this, the big one being no warranty. If the customers says do it and doesn't care then I relish the chance to make things better if I can.
I have never been given the chance to build a system like an 8-pack model so cannot comment on the work involved or the problems and solutions he may face, I would simply have to open the case and tidy it if I was lucky enough to own one.
Right I'm off to hide now!! Nepal looks promising........
