Nespresso refillable capsules

30p a cup wouldn't be so bad if it was as good as a fresh ground espresso to be fair.

That's not bad TBH if you're not prepared to go to the trouble of grinding the beans yourself. (Which I do)
I get roughly 14-15 espressos from a 250g bag of beans from Hasbean, that works out at 40-45p each depending on what I buy from there. :)

i have brought some compatibles from the real coffee comp and they are lovely. and 23% cheaper.
Yeah I got some of these, the wife likes the decaf. They work with the machine although the fit isn't quite right but they are cheaper.

We'll tend to just get the stove-top out if we want a 'proper' espresso, the Nespresso varieties are decent and a good range and gets loads of use for work mornings etc

We've got a Nespresso at home and in the office and can't see the point in refillables or 3rd party capsules given the cost/range/convenience etc of the official ones.

I think if you are a decaf drinker then there is a decent argument as you are limited to 3 official Nespresso coffees, 1 tame espresso, 1 medium espresso and a medium lungo.

The wife likes her decaf hence the refillables/trying the 3rd party ones, but tbh after a few tries it's just easier to get the stovetop out when she wants decaf and I use the regular ordered pods.

*edit*

Yeah right now there are 18 regular choices and 3 decaf - Intenso (7), Lungo (3), Decaf (2)

I grind my own as well, depends what I buy, don't buy cheap coffee very often except Portuguese coffee which is incidentally dirt cheap and extremely good.

I'm hoping Nespresso do their £40 credit promotion again over x-mas - I missed out last year.

My mum got me some dualit capsules from costco or somewhere and the coffee is good and apparently quite a lot cheaper.

Nespresso is all about convenience, 80% of the flavour for 10% of the effort, if you are grinding, tamping and sticking coffee in a capsule what is the point of using nespresso?
