The *Official* Eve Online Thread

Very sorry you've lost that. But I guess over the years it's more than made up for it. I don't tend to undock anything decent now over a weekend. I tend to find the ganking gangs load in from 1500 with the Russian start in the week. I stick with a Rattlesnake if I am doing anything highsec as you can certainly make it very cost prohibitive to gank and you don't need fancy stuff in them.

My rule is no mods more expensive than the entire hull on a battleship.

Purple and A/X types are for caps, and really, supers.

Unfortunate loss, but try not to make yourself a target.

After years of playing the game you should know how easy it is to get ganked by gangs nowadays even Tier 3 bc suicide ganks.

I have to be carefull even when I fly my pvp bling vindicator around because even with my hardners on that would probabaly die which is sad because its for pve not some scrub pve fit.

HURR

Also Ive got my software working now ISboxer haha so ive been running 5 arty sleipnirs in my small gang arty fleets xD.

Yep the Tier 3 BC make ganking a lot easier. Even when I am going through highsec I tend to use covert ops or a blockade runner to move around in - too many people like to try and pop pods on the older characters.

yeah i've had a pod popped in highsec just flying around. only hand some junk implant in though thankfully. was annoying though because i went back 17 jumps to my start destination -.-

If you have an 'old' character, never pod around in high, you will be podded, just on the offchance you are full of juicy implants!

Just grab a noob ship or a shuttle.

And don't AP either :)

I recently resubbed but don't find the PvP worth it anymore because everyone is such a high level you can't solo PvP and even of you do hey just bring mates along.

Back in the beginning when everyone was starting out I enjoyed it in 2005, but the problem with it now is the vast majority of players are years ahead meaning new people don't stand a chance.

Joined a corp in an alliance but if you asked a question about how something works you get called stupid :/ It's not as if EvE comes with a proper manual!

Maybe the corp I was in was the main problem, but I'm glad I'm done with it and it only cost a months subscription! Shame as I loved EvE in the old days.

Corp does make or break it really and one that won't take the time to help inexperienced players out ain't worth being part of.

I think Eve is one of those games where you can have more 'fun' in a good corp getting blown up than in a bad corp winning. I'd rather mess around with decent like minded people than being another number getting orders barked at them. TBH I would never place myself in the latter situation in the first place.

We should do something as OcUK sometime even though we are spread out elsewhere.

Totally agree, I still fly with the same people I met online back in 2005. We are all now real life mates and meet up quite often.

Its more of a laugh than a job, which I'm afraid is not the case in most corps!

Except that just isn't the case, you can be on near level footage to a vet when both flying frigates within 3-4 months, certainly within 5% of their ability. Piloting skills are far more vital at that point.

At the end of the day it's that progression which keeps older people playing, if it wasn't there we'd have lots of new players and very few old ones. Can't win them all.

Sounds like you got with a rubbish corp though :( Don't really personally know anyone beginner friendly that has gamestyle to keep people interested.

I'd be game for that :)

Me too, I actually have a few alts if you are thinking of starting a corp? They are all pvp alts and I don't carebear mind
No interest in a new corp, but I'd be up for roaming about or just helping out some newbies at times.

Is there an Ocuk eve channel? I could try, but I'm not home currently. My first guess would be to try Ocuk as channel name :p.
Your first guess would be correct :)
