Quick reality check please

Currently about £3500 after mortgage, insurances, bills etc

I have been saving it for the last 12 months not knowing if I can find another contract quickly after this one.

From the wage I earn, about £5600 :D.

From the wage I take, about 200 after rent, bills and food :( Most of it stays in the business account (saving for a house) which actually leaves me feeling skint after pay day

Don't honestly know. I stopped counting during the wedding planning phase and haven't got back on top of it yet.

All my finances are joint with the wife, and we have an offset mortgage so it's harder to tell, but I know we're not running out of money at the moment. That may change once we have to start paying £500 per month for my son's nursery fees though!

taking rent, bills and food off my net pay leaves £1k, but I can usually spend a good £200 of that on thin air, so I'll say £800. I aim to SAVE about £700/month.

Just mine, probs about £350 (with a £600 overdraft, lol) - These people with £1000 + left... I want your jobs, and/or you should donate some money to me. :D

I used to break even, and before then was making a loss for several months in a row :( Fortunately I pulled my socks up and started to get my finances in order. As a result, I am now in the position I'm in - obviously I also worked hard and earn better money than I did, but not enough to have sorted my life out without a lot of hard work and some sacrifices.

Target is to pay off £500 of my credit bill this month, which leaves about £200 for going out. Just 50 beers. :(

Find a cheaper watering hole, or look at it this way in the past 3 months I haven't even consumed 50 beers so I'm sure you can manage for one month.

another contractor here so at the moment £2-£3k but when this ends in a few months -£2k as there not a lot out there
