This happened yesterday at 11:35 AM, I got in from work shortly afterwards. My Dad was reversing a car out of his garage at the time and our next door neighbour was walking by, she saw it happen as well as a guy waiting at the bus stop over the road. We also have it on CCTV though the plates are not readable.
Basically my car is parked on the road, left hand side pointing towards the end of our cul-de-sac, a girl from down the street in a Suzuki Swift clipped my front wing and bumper by turning across into my car as she got the end of the road to pull out onto the main road. She didn't stop at all, though the video shows her stopping briefly and rolling back slightly before driving off.
I went down later when she was back from work, her car has a matching scrape on the rear quarter, she denied it completely and said the dent was already there. I said I have CCTV and 2 witnesses, she then said if she did then she didn't notice, we asked if she had her stereo on but she said no. Her mum came out too and said her Dad would come up and have a look at my car and talk to us. He hasn't been up yet and he left for work late this afternoon so he's had plenty of time.
This family is a bit rough, should I just report it to the police? Already called them yesterday and they said they have 24 hours to report it.
A local body shop said about £150 to paint and straighten my front wing. I don't mind if they'd rather pay cash and not go through her insurance.
