GTA V Multiplayer thread (360, XBOX ONE, PS3 and PS4)

i tried GTA online for the first time properly last night. its like an MMO game. zoo much to do, level your character, do multiple quests/jobs on your own or with others etc etc. quite a in-depth game online.

Played with my bro and 3 other real life friends and it was a blast.

Was annoyed i had to do the bloody tutorial though as i wanted to jump straight in with my mates!

Noticed the game takes £8k off you every so often just for a laugh.

Just had a good 2 hours and noticed twice that my money went down by £8k. Not died once, not bought anything.

Played online finally for the first time yesterday and it was the most stressful gaming experience ever. I'm guessing the tutorial points are static as there were people waiting by the clothes shop, LS Customs, then by the shop I needed to holdup! Then to add insult to injury, one idiot kept killing me with a rifle when I had no ammo at all and no means of getting away from him!

Is there a OCUK crew at all? Would much rather play with people who get that it's more than a spawnfest tdm game in free roam.

Oh and I entered passive mode which appeared to do absolutely nothing other than stop me being able to get my gun out? People kept shooting me and running me over still.

Which console? IF xbox feel free to add me. Yes there is a crew, imaginatively named OCUK. Though I don't know how you get in now as I think it is private, I think people have been posting Social Club username / GT's in the thread for an invite.

The tutorials are the worst bit of the whole online IMO, it should be done seperately to normal online play as so gimped in that people who have been playing a while can easily kill you. Easiest way to avoid getting killed (and best way to play gta online) is set up an invite only lobby (in SP go to pause menu, online tab, 'Play GTA Online' and selected start invite only) That way you can free roam undisturbed, do missions on your own without worrying about a random killing you for all your money. It also makes it easier to get friends into a mission as you invite them to your world as a normal game invite, once there if you start a mission can just select all from current session and invites them via phone rather than a seperate game invite again.

is there anything in the bank transaction log??
I've noticed my money goes down randomly, also if I play a solo session and bank the money I've made it's unbanked itself when I go into a normal session. I can end up walking around with quite a lot of money at times without knowing it.

On PS3 unfortunately - PSN id is GhostWKD if anyone else is on PS3 :)

Didn't realise it'd allow you to have a solo session, suppose it makes sense though. Might be a good one to steal & sell cars in i'm guessing? :)

Cheers,
Alex

Passive mode works, but only protects you from gunfire on foot.

You can still be

A) Shot inside your vehicle
B) Run Over
C) killed when your vehicle is blown up and you're inside it.

If you can't be bothered with any of that, start single player first. Go to the pause menu, then scroll across to the online table. Click "Start private session" and you'll spawn into a free roam world all on your own. Invite your friends in that you trust and you can still have just as much fun. Its no different and you can still host / join races / jobs / missions with other players. You just get returned back to the same empty free roam when its done.

Much better than being chased around the map by some level 100 guy with a tank. Saw my first one of them the other day. No doubt with ill gotten gains from glitch repeating the Rooftop Rumble $25,000 mission.

Either post in here and hope one of the officers see it or add one of us as a friend and stick your ocuk name in the message. I'm always available to add people :)

This has been happening to me and I don't understand it. I've been hovering in between 70-80k for a few days now because everytime I go over 80k some of it ends up vanishing.

I know certain missions require money before you enter, and that having a garage mechanic costs like $50 per week but it just can't be these. I need to check my transactions I guess.

stops you pressing right trigger to repeat NPC missions and glitch repeating them.

Also more fixes for the character corruption / lost progress. Full list below:

Interesting reading that article, if you click on the exploit that allowed players to grind cash takes you to this article

Is all about the RT / R2 restart of missions but the update at the bottom states

UPDATE: @Alexonnavitch tells us the mission restart exploit had already been zapped on Xbox 360 in a prior update. Thanks Alex!

Either there is some confusion over which patch fixed/fixes the xbox RT glitch or it hasn't been fixed as it was still possible last night.

I really don't know what to make of exploiting missions to farm cash, boring and repetitive, get everything you want within a week then become bored and risk the chance of Rockstar banning or resetting your character.

On the other hand it seems pretty clear they're nerfing all ways of quickly getting cash so they can push people to buy those cashcards. Which is even worse tbh.

I didn't realise we had quite so many cheats on here, sad really :(

somebody get on and try it lol.

I am not to fussed as managed to buy the 400k house last night and I am not too fussed about buying any cars the moment so will do that whenever.

I said it before but removing the RT quick restart will only slow down the repitition of missions, it wont stop it. There just isn't enough missions in the game it seems as I know if you or I ring the NPC's for a mission you will keep getting the same ones over and over. So the removal of the RT insta-restart will slow down the repitition but it wont stop it.

The people who have glitched to complete missions I can understand being banned or reset but those who RT to restart shouldn't be. Yes it was never intended but it was a valid option in the game to be able to restart, it wasn't like a bug or glitch was exploited.

How is it cheating? Yes the instant complete missions glitches is but the restart isn't/wasn't. You got to the end of a mission and in nice clear letters the option was there to restart by pressing RT. Just because, as it later turned out, we weren't supposed to be able to do that doesn't mean that, for the period people were, that it was cheating.

I've been busy over the last few weeks and haven't had chance to try this online yet. Am I missing much?

Great game but by the time you get into it everyone will be walking round with RPG's and tanks in multiplayer if you join random lobbies due to 90% of people exploiting.

So many posts from people crying on the GTAF forums because they can't just insta replay missions anymore. As usual threatening to sell the game, and never buy another rockstar product but we all know it's not the case.

I was talking about the exploits specifically.

The repeating missions thing is boring as ****, if people want to waste their time doing that then they are welcome to :p
