My best mate bought the Nemesis and Chi You clones - both look far better than the pictures on the website. If I had to choose between the two, I'd go for the Nemesis - even with the extra wait. The lack of a non-functioning air flow control means that the Nemesis looks a lot more sleek, particularly with a Kayfun Lite attached. I'll be ordering one in the morning, if only for a backup/knock around mod.

In other news: Absolutely kicking myself tonight after dropping my new Private v2 in the bathroom (yeah, like a single one of you hasn't ever pooped & vaped!), the Private is unmarked, but my dual coiled, 0.8 ohm Aga T2 (I've spent weeks getting right), filled with the last of my Scope's Apple Tart, didn't survive :mad:
Tanks shattered and centre pin has warped. I've drawn the remaining juice out with my syringe, but judging by the amount of glass fragments in the rest of the tank, I think I'll be perfuming the sink :(

I have other gear to use, so that's not the problem, but for testing different types of coil/wick combinations and the fact it was my first Genny and taught me so much about problem shooting, I'm really disappointed.

So the question is, do I just bite the bullet and order another Aga T2 to play about with, source the newer Aga TD, grab an RSST (no glass tank though) or do I move my plans to upgrade forward and buy a higher end Genesis (suggestions needed, but only stuff in stock and Genesis types please)

Oh well now you have been thrust into the world of Awesome Genesis types.
I would suggest getting on one of these lists on UKV and get a NICE RBA.

Im waiting on my ROSE atm as ive convered to silica/cotton. Far superior to SS mesh so I would rather use (not that you cant use mesh in them).

Get a decent Genesis mod buddy, and a nice decent mod. Something you will be happy for sometime :p.

Im getting my Nemesis next week then im going to try and get my hands on a hellfire or something shiny :P.

I have some decent kit - the Kayfun Lite et al, but for out and about, on top of the Private with Kick at 12W, it was superb. I'll likely just buy another as I've worked hard at getting it vaping like the proverbial choo-choo, so it'll be easy to mod the next one to work the same way.

I just thought I'd consider "reasonably priced" Genesis Attys (not the Rose, I cba to wait on a list) - that I can pick up pretty quickly as my Kayfun doesn't last the whole day, the dripper is a pain for driving and my other kit is never leaving the house :D
 
My Nemesis from FT is packaged and currently on it's way. I ordered it on the 20th of Sept, but there were delays due to the Chinese holidays. Hopefully it won't be too much longer now.

But is it just me, or maybe because this is a PC/Overclockers/geeks forum and i am a bit of a geek, but I like my Vamo and Provari, they have buttons and displays, i can change the settings etc! Mech mods just seem a little 'dull'....! :o



I got my KFL today, along with a beauty ring for my Provari Mini, some spares and a banana toffee sweet! All from C9V.

I've gotta go out tonight, wonder if i can get the KFL working before i go.....




Also, is this the Nemesis clone everyone's on about?

I've been meaning to ask by the way, do you guys torch the wick and the wire when you build a coil for the KFL etc?

Nope i just torch the wire, some people say torch the wick as well but i havent done it and so far all my builds have been ok other than a few teething issues.

You can but I wouldn't. The build quality is rubbish, apart from the nostalgia I would just look at the DIY DNA20 Nes controller mods and tackle it myself.

Wire - Yes (Helps when screwing to the posts if using thicker Kanthal and because you can't burn it with cotton I oxidize it and burn of any contaminants.
Cotton - Obviously No
Ekwool, Silica, Bastos etc - Definitely Would.
 
Torching the wire takes the springiness out of it - makes wrapping a coil easier.
Only torch the wick if it's silica/ekowool and particularly fluffy, but anything else I wouldn't bother. Obviously, if you're experimenting with mesh, then that needs oxidising well.

If you're tempted to try Cotton as a wick, this doesn't respond to torching - don't even try dry-burning the coil with it :p
 
Gahh well thats me done with the KFL, just isnt working for me. No matter what juice i put into the tank, it comes out tasting burnt and like crap.

Oh well gave it a chance but its just too ****ing fiddly to get right and ive lost all patience with it now. Wasted enough juice, wire and ekowool trying to get this damn thing to work properly...only once its worked for me but since then it hasnt.

Back to the protanks, good thing i didnt chuck them away lol. Guess ill be putting the KFL on my shelf so it can look pretty because thats about the only thing its good for lol.

can you post pics of what you've done?
 
Yas, leave it for a day or two, watch a few more videos and give it another bash while watching something on the telly. I'm sure you're more than capable of getting it working in time :)

I'm sure there are loads of people that can give you a hand! -edit- majnu to the rescue :)
 
Kfl is easy to get working good with practise. 2 mill wick works a lot better than wool. Are you wrapping the coils too tight on the wool? This is the main mistake we make with rebuilding.

Oh help isnt the problem lol but i must be doing something wrong because ive been watching so many vids on how to coil and wick the kfl that im pretty confident that i can do it. Maybe ill try the microcoil wick method as ive been doing the double strand coil and wick and it just isnt working for me...usually get a very bad burnt taste.
Even before i fill the tank, i check ohms and to see if the coils are lighting up properly...they are but soon as i prime it with juice...bang burnt taste even when im pulsing it to see whats going on. Once its primed i pulse it and i see freaking hotspots all over the place ie some coils are heating up quickly and others arent and im doing a 3 wrap on 2mm ekowool. So i just dont know what is going on now, i did managed to nail the double strand method when i first got the kfl but since then i havent been able to get anything decent out of it.

At first i thought i was but i coil a little bit more loosely but still not helping matters much, im getting lots of hotspots and when i get rid of those...i then get a burnt taste.
