A nippy car for up to £15k

Well I'm off to test the gti tomorrow...... And a fiesta st ;) I'm set on not getting the gti but the St is from the same place so it will be nice to test them both out and see how they compare. I didn't realise the fiesta was as cheap as it is.

Golf makes me nod off just thinking about it.

The new fiesta ST might be worth looking at but that will only be a side step to what you have now minus the space.

With a remap, I think the ST might be a very interesting car. Though i'm not sure it would be a good idea whilst it's in warranty. I will hopefully be testing the megane 250 soon as well.

Megane 250 would get my vote for your budget. It is the best hot hatch for your budget.

Don't you fancy going RWD?

I really love the looks of the megane. It's just the warranty that is swaying me towards the ST. I actually wouldn't mind a RWD. I looked at a vxr8 but the insurance is a little to high for me :D I'm not sure what other good RWD cars there is, others than the usual BMWs. I've only really been looking at hot hatches.

Hmmm the Fiesta would seem a bit too young styling for me now. Now a VXR8, well.... That would just be insane fun with an incredible noise to go with it. I would be very jealous :p

Different league to a Fiesta though when it comes down to the price of maintaining and running.

I was mullered by a Focus RS coming home from work today, sounded lovely and I personally like the ridiculous green they come in!

I guess one of the major negatives aside from lairy colour schemes attracting attention is some of the people that tend to own them (today for example, I really wasn't interested but said RS driver sat 2mm from my rear bumper in traffic), not so different to imprezas though

I have a Clio 182 and a BMW 335i. The 335i is quite a fast car  I'd wholeheartedly recommend it! :)

Megane 250's are good fun and seem to respond well from being thrashed. From what i have seen on the owners forums there doesnt appear to be any common issues either.

330i pocket the vast amount of change or get that and maybe a fun throwable hot hatch for kicks

Some awesome cars there. The bmw would be high on my list if it was for the mileage.

I would have gone for the vxr8 if it wasn't for the high insurance. The fiesta st seems like a good stop gap whilst I get a few more years no claims. Say 2 or 3 years and then get something with a silly engine in :p

Am I the only one slightly concerned that if you are looking for something nippy 'when you floor it' and you are moving from a FWD to a RWD or AWD, that you will basically end up in a hedge if you buy a 135i/335i/Impreza/Evo. The driving style/dynamics, delivery and insane step up will be crazy over an ST.

Have you ever drove an Impreza/Evo?
