If everyone thought like you the game wouldn't have got off of the ground... Luckily others can see to the future and understand the concept.

You do seem to have gotten irate of the last few pages.

Also i haven't questions your finances at all. I posted a tongue in cheek comment ages ago which you guoted above.

Aside from that i have never questioned if you can afford it, or your previous good deeds or what you've given away.

Im sorry but without sounding funny I have no idea where your post above came from as it seems to be about something i havent even questioned or raised?????

Edit:

The original Budget was ideally $21mill but he was aiming in the long run to get $12-13 from interested parties aside from those committed as private investors

Personally I think the people protesting the ship buying the loudest are the ones who would immediately buy the whole lot if they had the spare cash lying around.

In summary:
Simple answer to you both, MrMoonX and Arknor, if you don't believe in the project of agree with it and aren't willing to put your money where your mouth is then you know where the exit door for the thread is.

someone else seemed to suggest I couldn't afford to pledge
you stated that people who have not pledged should not be allowed to post in this thread.

The part I didn't like was when they said you have to pay to play? On top of the initial cost you have to pay like WoW like a subscription model? Pay to make the game, pay for the ships and pay to play. Just sounds like an awful lot of paying.

HybridX just for you and so I can carry on posting in this thread.
Now I hope you are happy

Not sure where you heard that but there is NO SUBSCRIPTION in the game. Pay to Play means its not Free to Play but you pay for the game and that's it.

Arknor i really dont want to fall out with you mate i really dont.

I am confused though. My previous statement wasnt a "you need to pledge to even discuss this" statement. It was more of a "well if you don't want to join the project and can only talk negative then take your money and time and leave otherwise get involved and join in"

I don't know if i should feel guilty as it now looks like you pledged to prove a point? or if i should say thanks for supporting the game or what...?

You buy/pledge for the game and starting ship dependent at what level you want to enter the game. There is no subscription or requirement to pay a single penny after that point.

I would have bought it eventually anyway , Just a lot closer to release.

I loved playing freelancer online and always wished the X games would go multi-player.

I need to apologize on my part anyway for getting a bit fired up. Often people start slating without knowing the full facts or just scare mongering as its entering new ground and whilst i am far from a fan boy i can get defensive especially if i've heard it all before.

I am still a bit confused that you pledged at this point because of the discussion in hand!

Sidenote: Want me to convert that into a Lifetime insurance version for you? :D

Oh right, that's good. I can't remember where I heard it but someone asked a question about about going on holiday and not playing for a while. Then the guy said of course you don't pay when you're not playing but when you get back into it you can buy stuff like fuel or cargo. That's when the red flags went up for me. Anyway I'm glad you don't have to pay to continue playing after the initial cost.

Good stuff thanks.

That was a question asked about hangar fees and in game ship insurance bought in game for credits if they went on vacation or left the game for a bit then returned.

anyone else find the hanger module disappointing ?

1920x1080 @ very high or whatever the max setting was and the graphics are pretty rubbish.

I take it the models are not finished and they will be adding shaders?

I was expecting pcars ultra realistic looking for the amount of polygons they said each model is in one of the quotes I posted

I was a bit underwhelmed by it, but it's not a finished module and most likely still has a ton of optimisation before it's done. But yes was rather "meh", even suggested to a mate (Scarab) that it's not worth pledging for now as it's really not a big deal. He did anyway though, then found out his card isn't compatible..

Yeah I messed about with the hanger mod for about 5 minutes and probably wont touch it again. Good first step though, I like the concept of modular releases whereby you see the game at various stages, and as a basic first step I liked stroking my vessel, wey hey.

On a funny note, anyone seen the hacked hanger mod where they 'flew' their craft. When I say 'flew', I use it in the widest sense of the word. Quite encouraging there is that much data in the small download, however made me suddenly think about third person view - hope that isnt a feature!

I wasn't expecting much from it so I wouldn't say I was disappointed as such, but it was a "meh" experience. I'm far more interested in the dog fighting in December :)
