Ewww Rome Total War 2

I thought they would both refund if you hadn't installed and played the game?

Why would steam refund a game he purchased in a store?
If bought direct from Steam I've heard of them refunding preorders before.

They'll always refund Steam Store preorders before the release date.

Has the fps improved in this yet? I uninstalled a few hours after installing because of bad fps

Nope not at all. You still need a CPU from about 20 years in the future to get above 20fps in large battles

Still no MSAA, still no sli/xfire support, still runs like crap, still has no atmosphere.

CA totally and utterly failed this time around in my opinion.

Sorry for the vitriol. I am only annoyed because Total War up until now has been my favourite series of games :(

Opinions are fine, but a lot of people are bandwagoning on the hate tbh.

Plus CA are supporting it like crazy atm, 5 patches, 1 free DLC so far... patch 7 is in the works... How many games are crap at release and still get support? Not that many.

Another CA apologist :p. There is a reason it has garnered so much hate. It is because it is rubbish.

The only reason CA are supporting it so much is because they know thay have to and they know full well it wasnt anywhere near finished.

Rome 2 runs super smooth on my moderate CPU. Have you tried the new patch?

My main gripes with this game were with the AI and they have pretty much fixed it. Honestly I don't think this game is half as bad as everyone makes out and that is coming from a long time fan of the series (particularly the first Shogun). I'm actually having fun with it

Cheers mate, I will leave it in my Steam category '**** games never to be installed ever again'. :)

There is xfire support. Not sure about sli. Runs a lot better since the latest patches.

I'm not refering to Family Sharing

This is what I'm pointing at

thank christ for that. it amazed me when people were all up in arms about xbox1 doing this, but steam has done this for years and gets no slack for it. i bought skyrim physical copy, i cannot sell it on as it's tied to steam. i will never play many games on my account and they're just stuck sat there

No the game isn't half as bad as people make out, it is actually totally as bad as people make out.

The fact that gate burning torches are still in the game also proves the AI is absolutely not fixed.

I doubt GAME would take the game back even if the code wasn't used, retail are pretty strict on PC games nowadays. If you break the seal, that's it, no refund.

It's as bad today as it was on release, the REAL issues all remain.

It's an awful game, especially when compared to Rome 1, Medieval Total 2 and Shogun 2.

I think Empire especially with Darth is also better.

Rome 2 has no depth whatsoever.

I loved empire, always wanted a game with muskets and cannons! Problem with Rome 2 is that it wasn't properly beta tested and was released pretty much broken. It wasn't optimised, AI is as smart as a 1 year old, turns take to long, to many small factions and not enough warring.

Like what the hell is with the Multiplayer atmosphere, did 3vs3 and the land is just flat with nothing to show, like i was playing a game pre 99 :(

I admit i enjoyed the first 30mins of single player, but then i couldnt get further than the "Use the Siege Weapons" just did nothing at all.
