Battlefield 4 Thread ~ Server details in opening post ~

I pre ordered BF4 Digital Deluxe ages ago and pre ordered Premium today. Loved BF3 but played it on 360 so never got the full benefit.

Built my pc just in time for the beta and loved it, KB&M is the way to go!

Though tbf in my case elite is a bit strong, more like 3rd world army unwilling conscript.:D

Edit..Hell we could even do a 10vs10 team. WOuldn't be serious as I know those if us doing competitive will be playing for other teams too but a lineup of Westie, Kiwi, BB, Chief, Goon, Chronic, StonedPenquin and myself would be a good start. Maybe Flopper / Nexus as well...dunno, haven't played with flopper and only a few times with nexus :/

tbh you could make a strong 5 or 6 out of a few on here who would do well.

couple from tfu couple from matts lot westie it would do well. youd be okay i guess for a low-med player stoned :p maybe you could be a reserve.
 
Thanks but I play for fun, not competitively, too stressful and too much pressure for my liking :p


On a separate note, simplycdkeys have taken payment today so hopefully we get the key soon........

Not talking for ESL / Comps really as TFU, cG and GC will be fielding teams I imagine but for mess around tbh.
 
I didn't hear much of the built in voip on the beta. I did hear once or twice but when i did hear it was realy poor quality and I could not make out what was said. I am not sure if that was just the players mics. I did hear the voip being used in a video and it sounded very clear. I would like to see more voip in public games used for strategy, i think that would be useful.

Anyone used the voip in the beta or heard it and thought it was working ok?
 
It was working but no one I know used it as we all use teamspeak with opus codecs which are far far clearer.

Edit..Anyone who owns a TS server here should really try out Opus codec, it's much better and lower overhead than speedex ;)

I was using it and it seemed to work fine. Obviously not as good in terms of clarity as using a dedicated voip client like teamspeak, but that's not the point. I was able to talk to random squad members and get some real teamwork going in the squad. The in game voip is probably the feature I'm excited most about.
 
I used the ingame VOIP a little and people said they could hear me fine and the few that did use it were perfectly clear.

I usually use voice activation though as especially with BF I can't really spare a key binding for voice especially not in heavy action where I really need good voice comms :S
 
Just out of curiosity. Was any mention made at the time of the BETA of the new battlelog design and the loading screens being much lower res than BF3? I only just remembered them but the loading screen particularly looked very low res console and on Battlelog everything was much bigger and more difficult to navigate!
