***Official Batman Arkham Origins Thread***

Have u not played the first two?

I liked the first one and finished it but not the second. I have it just never played it much.

I think it's the fighting for me that does it. It's counter/Punch repeat. I just get a bit bored of it and tend to try and avoid fights.

The way I see it, I'm a fully grown child. The fact I have been around for 25 years means nothing. I'm still a child, just a fully grown one.

LOL

Well, for the AMD people, it runs very well. I'm running AA on FXAA-High and averaging 90fps.

There is a bug as the fps can dip dramatically and no FPS cap on cut scenes, I recorded 810fps earlier.

Whats the performance like with AMD so far guys?

7970 1080p all settings max runs nice and smooth even with normal Physx selected. Tbh it runs just as well on my 7970 as it does with the 290x not a massively demanding game at 1080p.

I must admit I'm looking forward to a 780 being delivered later so I can see how it looks with Max Physx comapred to normal.

Played a few hours of this last night. Great game in my opinion. Yes its more of the same but i dont mind that. Maxed out and with 8xAA this game looks stunning. i can definatly see the graphical improvements. Deathstroke is an annoying b***h though lol.

Find this file "Startup.swf" that is located in AO/singleplayer/bmgame/movies and rename it.

As for the FOV(seems fine to me), but if you want to change it, and sort out mouse smoothing, follow this guide: clicky

My problem is that I don't have any voice to go with the subtitles, in fact if the subtitles were not enabled by default I might not have even noticed that there wasn't any voice....lol, have read that a restart fixes it but have restarted it 4 times now.

Yep :/ I tried putting the commands with higher FOV values in the UserInput and UserGame files - but that doesn't work. This looks like it will probably have to be done via an external program. I played throught the first area and it's not too bad. The close fov is more for cinematics etc. It's not terrible - but would be nice to have options.

:(:(:(

Found a horrible bug

I think it was the burnley tower, the towers you have to activate to be able to fast travel. Part of the enigma mission. Once you enter the room the doors all lock and you have to pull a grate off from above. Problem is it won't let you enter to grate!!bat just hangs there with way out what so ever. Have to restart. Such a easy bug to catch and pretty much ends the enigma missions dead. Must really have been rushed to miss that

Just played for the first time.

According to Nvidia I should be able to max the game out on my PC, I can't. It stutters like AC did.

Why does it take so long to get past WBID.....busy? Very annoying.

Wut? So I decided to put fraps on and it seems the game has that really, REALLY annoying vsync that lowers to 30 if it dips below 55... Making the game VERY choppy.

Not to mention, even on the SSD I'm getting stuttering when looking around outside.

Thought my 670 would handle this ok??? I just got down to 20fps in a fighting scene for a second... Very odd!

That guy gets two options to COUNTER during a multiple move by Deathstroke. I do not and get whacked like ******* 50 times!!!! Must be something wrong or I suck

Going to wait a little while for the world to playtest this for me. Lost all faith in WB after the debacle that was Arkham City with the early performance issues, but keen to play this if it looks solid...

Zero problems on A.C. for me with 7970

I think from various videos that the console version seems to be slightly different, there seems to be more chances to counter in non PC version videos I've seen.

There appears to be the smoke bomb/jump/spam counter then beatdown, the blue lines indicating you can counter, but the console version also seems to have the "press counter" option midway through him hitting you, on the PC version this always leads to him whacking you, on the consoles there is a chance to counter and prevent the damage. So it's a tough fight as he will repeatedly hit you taking a chunk of health where console version seems to have a way to counter most of that damage.

I've encountered a few bugs so far, one everyone seems to get with one of the towers, a few times that doors/loads into new areas(leaving the place after the Deathstroke fight for instance the door wouldn't open) requiring a restart from last checkpoint to fix.

Not a bad game, fov is worse which makes everything feel a bit odd, particularly having played the other batman only hours before the new one. Batman seems bigger and the city by contrast feels smaller. THe city also feels quite bland, colour wise I guess, something, it feels odd compared to the previous city, the amount of buildings you can't reach the top of for instance is quite frustrating and basically stupid. THe height limit so when you fast travel you can't glide for miles.
