Aircraft isn't going to be as much of a problem in this game, thank god! Main reason I try to avoid certain maps in bf 3
The main problems with jets (and some points apply to helis) in bf 3 and what makes them look overpowered:
- spotting system, stupid the way you looked in the general direction of an enemy and hit q and the whole enemy team lights up, easy pickings for any jet pilot that can aim, from the looks of it, this has been addressed, you can only spot a few of the team depending on distance, imo though jets shouldn't be able to spot infantry or basic transport stuff like jet skis and quad bikes
- slow speed crawl from above as they unleash their rockets and then finish of with the main cannon and any good jet pilot will do it from directly above so **** all you can do with the main tank shell or 50 cal gun
- vehicle regen. (imo shouldn't be in bf 3 or bf 4), as soon as any jet pilot took a bit of damage, they would fly way of out of range and wait for regen.
- some maps, especially for rush game mode having no anti air vehicles at all thus easy mode for jets
- map design was incredibly poor in bf 3, lack of cover from aircraft
In the BF 4 beta, I had no problem taking the attack heli down with a RPG (no stupid lock on rubbish) or tank shell, however, it needs to be changed so that 1 RPG/tank shell is required for the attack and scout heli and 2 for the transport heli.
Plus since we get the manually controlled rocket launcher back, it is going to be as easy as anything to take helis etc. down no matter the distance, will take time to master but once you do, you will pull of shots like this
Going to cause some aircraft whores to rage big time
Also, don't forget that all vehicles now have that incredibly long reload time for their main weapons, this is a superb idea, no longer can helis etc. just rape non stop. If that wasn't present in the beta, don and I could have easily got a heck of a lot more kills then.
IIRC the flare reload time has also been increased too.

I like that idea a lot! Stinger can go to the max ceiling height that the heli can, would stop those that just hover at the very top spamming 30mm cannon and tv missiles, zzzzzzzzzzzzzz........

plus we have auto AA now and that seemed very effective in the beta, as soon as you got close to the base, it destroys you in a matter of seconds.

not to mention that you have boats heavily armed (took out quite a few helis with it and just the main cannon/gun) and the vehicle mobility hit!
