You're just really lanky :p

Stripped the Ti. Need a braze on clamp adapter for the front mech and another BB tool for 6800.

check the speeds and times LOL

Although I guess he could have zig zagged up the road whilst I did a straight line but still funny

I don't get it? he's clearly faster than you and the other guy and thats it?! only 3 people on the segment.. I bet if there was 100+ you'd be at the bottom while he would be somewhere near the top :o

3.6mph - 3:18
3.7mph - 3:32 (14 seconds slower but higher speed)

it's not supposed to be an epeon post grudas... just 3.7mph being a lot slower than 3.6mph.....

but anyway grudas with hundreds of people I can still be near the top when I want to be so.....

thats not near the top.. you're 7mp/h/avg behind the top.. thats a lot of effort to get there.. uniq pwned everything you or I have achieved tho :p

well I don't go out and try to get koms I'm sure there are a few near me I could get with a few tries and on that one where I'm 7th I could likely improve by a mph or two.

main goal = lose weight still :D
I'll worry about koms when I have a bike with drop bars

lol knew exactly which segment you were looking at :P

It is quite a short segment and rob owens used the strava iphone app which will be less accurate then a garmin. Strava doesn't interpolate between gps points it just chooses the closest, so he may have ridden ever so slightly faster but his phone didn't record a gps point until a bit later at the end and a bit earlier at the start resulting in him riding further for the same segment and thus a longer time.

That's the problem with using phones, you can both gain and loose time on a segment compared to what you actually did, it gets worse the shorter the segment.

.

still waiting for you to set a time on it ;)

my latest on it was riding half way up it at about 7-8mph then thinking **** it and just walking the rest :D

it's always at the end of my ride though so my legs are already a bit tired.

I usually just ride all the way to the end of scotswood road on the way home now and then turn left after the college , left again and up the slightly less of a gradient hill towards the old pub on westgate road
adds a few miles but is a lot easier.

It looked like it was about to rain today though so just wanted to get home.

felt 2 spots when I was near BNQ but luckily the rain didn't come

I've given it a go and only made it half way up, need to lose weight and get more fit before I actually make it up

Dropped over 5kg in a week in hospital so probably lost some much needed strength to power up it.

Excuses out the way I might make it up next year lol - I don't see me improving too much over winter when the weather gets really bad.

can I see a google street view link of the hill please? ;o
we've done this before it doesn't look anything special on street view but it's much steeper than it appears..

the average gradient is only 10% apparently but as you can see there are sections with much more.

lose so much speed when you hit the 16.5 , 17.5 , 18 etc

only 0.3 miles but 110ft different between the bottom and the top according to strava and velo viewer is saying about the same with almost 35 metres
