Assuming you're turning the right way, a proper pedal wrench and a large bar for leverage is the way to go if they're seized. When you refit make sure you grease the threads, will make removing them a lot easier in future.

I've done some rides lately without changing gear. It feels really different. Definitely going to get a SS at some point.

1000ft per 10 miles is on a par with our tougher rides. We usually do closer to 6-700ft per 10 miles.

You should just keep looking for frames.

There is a 22.5" Reynolds 753 frame on eBay in Soton that the seller won't ship so at the moment it's under £40 with 2hrs left. It's got horizontal dropouts and I bet it's like silk.

I was tempted to buy it and ask a mate in Southampton to collect and post. There are bargains out there, you just have to find them and be ready.

keep meaning to ask but keep forgetting.
what light is it I keep seeing people using that flash with the power of the sun ? the brightness is to intense you can't see anything either side of them for a good few feet.

and are they road legal?

Will be some badass LED light.

The extra hour this morning was useful. It meant they still had the breakfast menu on when we got to Jodrell Bank :) If you're ever in the area its a must visit place for food. Gorgeous.

yea but which one :D I want one if they are legal at that brightness on the roads
they look super awesome

must be this one
and lezyne do ones even more powerful than that :O

Think I will have to order one now it's getting dark early.

any of you guys got one?

first time I saw one I thought it was someone on a motorbike riding alone a bike path lol

all you need.. one steady one flashing and you'll be seen :o

Guessing you want a cheap Chinese Cree T6 from the bay

they don't sound to hot from what I read on another forum, well apparently they get so hot you can't touch them lol and apparently less than half the lumens the manufactures claims , people were saying they are more like 600 lm

seems the super drive xl isn't as good as the video I linked according to reviews :|

guess I would have to get a Lezyne Mega Drive but they are damn expensive.

would be nice though where I ride is mainly on a cycle path that is surrounded by trees on either side so is pretty damn dark.

maybe I will get me one as an early Christmas present to my self

I have an XM-L T6 based light. I only use it on the second brightness setting or it's done in about half an hour. I keep it pointed down at the ground fairly close in front of me. I have a flashing triple led light from Cateye for being seen by.

load of tosh.. I had mine for over a year now in rain snow and lava - as always and they're still going.. they are the Q5's tho "claimed 200lumens" I'll move those over to my SS and ordered T6's for this winter..

There isn't a legal lumen limit a bike light can be. You just can't go around dazzling people i.e you have to employ some common sense in where you aim it.

There isn't just 'one' light that is really bright either there are probably hundreds. Depends on your budget/requirements really.

I have an XML T6 light. I use it doubled up with a normal flashing front light.
Anywhere with street lights or other ambient lighting, i turn off the XML T6. I only use it for unlit country roads and turn it off or point it down when cars come.

This years cheap Chinese light of choice is the solarstorm x2, it's a big step on from the xml-t6's that were popular last year as the beam pattern offers a good spread rather than just a bright hotspot.
