BMW and M Power Owners

It actually decreases economy (not massively though). Cruise will effectively be altering the accelerator position at times when you would probably just maintain it (i.e going uphill).

How about the Dynavin units etc? They worth a punt or complete cack?

A mate of mine just got the updated Eonon D5150 from a group buy on E46Fanatics (iirc) for just over £200, it arrived quite quickly and fitted in about an hour. I'm fairly impressed by it, it's fast, it's seems to be good quality, and it sounds a lot better than the BMW CD player he had in place before it.

It's got everything you'd expect from a third party unit too, sat nav is handled via a third party app (runs of Win CE) and he's currently running iGo which is good.

The UI is it's slight weak point only because I found it a little difficult to find music due to limited number of characters from an ID3 tag it displays, though you could probably fix this by having music organised on the SD card by folder and with cleaner tags.

The new models also have an updated CANBUS module too so it now doesn't 'forget' where you were when you switch the car off.

All in all, I do like it quite a lot, if I didnt have factory nav and require a £50 cable to fit one, I'd have got one myself :p

Believe it or not I think this one was caused by going karting Saturday night! Woke up battered and bruised with a really stiff neck, I think from the weight of the helmet..my body can't take the abuse it used to! :)

That begs the question, What did your body used to get up too? ;)

While we wait for your ad, What do we think on this one?

Just had an email saying its still for sale, The mileage is a little on the high side for me but may compromise, its an auto but again I'm starting to not mind the idea now.

The mileage is a little on the high side? Eh? It's a 9 year old car with 70k, that's low not high. Was expecting 200k when I read that!

The manual shift is slow as balls though, that's the biggest down side and ultimately the only reason why I'd not want an auto from that generation unless it was an M3 in which case SMGII.

tbh, it'll still be faster then a 1.2 Clio, which i've been driving since I had my License 4 years ago.

Its only a claimed .5 of a second slower then the manual, and Its gonna be my daily commute.

Decent ones yeah, That's why i'm moving over to the idea of an auto, shame they're not 6 speeds, but they are triptronic, so I can manual shift still.

Have you driven the auto yet? If not then I think you'd be surprised how good they are. The gear shift in the ZF box is pretty quick and really smooth, especially in Sport mode.

Don't think I've ever used the manual shift, but that's mainly because the auto is really good at what it does.

Then you have the other perks of an auto such as really easy driving in stop-start traffic, and not having to worry about hill starts as the gearbox will hold you there without rolling back. Just squirt the throttle and off you go :)

The auto 330Ci is a great car but it's NOT a manual alternative just because it has tip. If you want a manual, find a manual and not an auto. The auto is great because it's fantastic to waft.

I wouldnt want an auto 330Ci. If you want to waft, buy a 530i. You presumably want a 330Ci because of its 'sporting pretentions'. Get the manual.

I know your tactics, trying to make your car sound awesome to me :D

I've driven A auto, a triptronic Honda Accord sport, which I must admit the box is very good, fast smooth changes in it.

Lol not at all..if a manual is what you want then that's what you should go for. I just want to make sure you give the auto a try before making any final decisions.

Like Fox says the steptronic is no manual replacement, but it's good at what it does, especially in Sport mode.
