Battlefield 4 Thread ~ Server details in opening post ~

Yeah test range puts you on a small map with drones etc to shoot down, can use aircraft tanks lav's etc. My gfx options are all set to low and its not letting me change them for some reason.

They was test's about showing Windows 8 having 50% better CPU performance over Windows 7.

Well that's answered that question for me then, that's one hell of a perfomance increase!

Had no really inclination to upgrade my home PC to Windows 8 (running Windows 8 on my work laptop), but that has just sold it to me..especially since I have a copy of Windows 8.1 waiting to be installed on a PC. Guess what I'll be doing tonight/ tomorrow :D

Wait for final version first (talking a matter of a few hours or a day :p), beta was very poorly optimised and one patch made the game run much better on w7.

Any particular reason to go for 8.0 and not 8.1? (I have both available to me, and will be running Start8)

few bugs to do with 8.1 not solved. 8.0 is as smooth and no bugs.

im going to try win7 tomorrow then probably go win8.0 after trying seven to see the difference. ;)

The waves actually do make quite a difference when using boats, makes aiming that bit harder and its easy for a boat to get behind a wave and out of your sight line.

Another bug: pressing b is supposed to toggle minimap, it instead opens the console. Where did they find their testers?

TBH, I wouldn't be surprised if there are more serious bugs than that with the game atm, typical with DICE/EA and BF games :( (and pretty much every other game these days)

We will probably see a patch within the week to fix any problems.

No issues here with 8.1... Dont just tell people not to use 8.1 because you had issues.. Let them test there hardware for themselves :p
