Ohhh man, I wish I went to your school when I was a kid. I actually wish I just went to school when I was a kid and I could have a 9-5 job now instead of shift work :(

yep as much as i love amd they arnt as strong in favor to the masses as amd so there price has to be lower. 350 i can see the price in maybe a month maybe less :eek:. think gibbo said hed brought 10,000 cards if thats true they goona have to do some great sales.

Price drops after release always happens, but THIS soon has to be a real sting to anyone who bought a 290X within the last what...couple of days since availability?

I always expect early adopters to get stung after a couple of months on price drops but this is just, well, errrrr yer....

AMD need to drop to keep competitive.
 
Agreed early adopters pay for all the PR and marketing, just towards the end of november and early december hopefully further sales and offers.

If another company can sell the 780x phantom for £368 today (already sold out!), then it should really be £350 if not less. 290x is competing with an 780 so should be even more less then the Nvidia card so it should really be £330-350.

Of course lots of ifs and shoulds, look forward to more price drops....

I think that the 290 will be the alternative to significant 290X cuts. The 290X is too expensive at the moment, but that's because it's hard to get and so prices are inflated. If the 290 comes in under £350 it's going to take all the AMD sales until the custom 290X cards come out.
