GA-Z68X-UD4

Update.

Finally managed to get back into windows after my last post. Seems you can only OC to 4.4Ghz, providing you leave the Cpu voltage on Auto. It will however not run in P95 or IBT, as the OC seems to drop to 3.3GHZ and then the system locks up. I don`t know whether ot not that is a software issue with Windows 8.1.
So whilst attempting to get back into the bios, I did some research using my laptop, to find out how to flash back the Bios. But for some reason I keep getting this message " unable to successfully read file", even tried QFlash, but that was a no go. So now I am at a loss as to what to do next.
The file I was using is EFI2AWD. EXE, which I got from Tweakstown.
Anyone got any bright ideas on how to get rid of this UEFI dross.

Idleman what BIOS are you running? I have Stulid's old board that he flashed back to F6 for me to suit my 2500k. Albeit mine is a Z68XP-UD4.

Where in Newark are you? I'm in Newark too and could swap out the chip to see if that makes any difference? I also Have a 'spare' Z68XP-UD3 if you want to try that?

Sherwood Avenue, in the flats across from the TA. Where abouts are you?

I have the same board, Z68XP-UD4. With Bios U1g.
I appreciate the offer mate, but I`ll wait to see if I can get this sorted first. If it can`t be done, then I`ll sell it and get another one. I just can`t believe how crap the UEFI bios is, my Asus P67 came with UEFI Bios and is miles better, in every way.

Well guys, got it flashed back to EFI(f6), restarted PC, set ACHI and HPET 64, saved and exited, now it`s telling it`s corrupted. Keeps trying to load from secondary bios, but restarts at 2%.

All sorted now.
It reloaded the UEFI, so had to re-do it. But it`s fine now.
I did the back up Bios as well, so no chance of the UEFI coming back.:D

Thanks again guys for the patience and help in sorting this. If we ever meet I owe you a BEER. ;)
