heros

The women character that has a split personality (I don't care what she's called :p ) frustrates me so much I just do something else when her part of the programme comes on. She has a terrible storyline and bores the hell out of me, and has a fully crap power.

The invisible dude seems interesting...

yeh i wwas expecting more from that woman, like she turned into a beast like fighter, just jumpin and scratching n thriwin n stuff, not a schizo

i've been impressed by this program and left wanting more over the new year. looking forward to it getting going again (episode 12 seemed like a filler episode reintroducing thr characters) Shame it won't be coming to a HD channel in the uk to see it in all it's glory!

Did this ever have a proper ending? Or was it just cancelled, watched one and a half series when it was on tv, and thinking of watching the rest. But only if it finished properly.

Thanks, I shall skip it. I hate cancelled shows.
Waiting untill after the series has finished and watching it down the line, is far better.

I hate it when people say they don't watch cancelled shows. An ending on television actually goes against the nature of the medium anyway...

To wit, I enjoyed Heroes. I recently watched it all again and found that it was still pretty decent. First season was great.

Why does it go against the medium?
It doesnt at all, it might go against the norm.
But tv series like this is story telling and is meant to have an end (unlike documantries, soap operas etc, if it has a story arc, then its meant to end, which most of these series do) and I expect an end.
I also hate watching series on tv which span ober 5+ years.
Breaking bad was great, watched the hole lot over a couple of months.
Will never find out what the underlyi ng mathmatical stuff was in starate universe, it was designed to have an end and it was cancelled.

You'll probably have noticed how television in and of itself is never ending. It's always on, always rolling, always existing. It's a medium which is perpetual.

I'm not saying that endings are bad, or shouldn't exist but I think given the nature of the entire construct of television itself, and in particular the way networks operate, that any TV show which does get an end is afforded a very rare, unusual luxury. More to the point, these kinds of, dare I say, and for lack of a better term, "novelistic" television shows operate on a season to season basis that can still be appreciated despite the lack of narrative resolution. The best television shows are journeys. Yes, it might be somewhat frustrating but the lack of conclusion does not automatically render the experience of the TV series irrelevant.

EDIT: Also, bringing soap opera up raises a very interesting point, even if does somewhat segue into the beginning of an entirely separate argument. Drama series take a lot of cue from soap operas, which are mainly about character arcs as opposed to overall plot and they are design to never end. To follow the temporarily and "flow" (if I may borrow an academic term) of television.

DOUBLE EDIT: There are also many drama series which are not designed to end but still follow the same patterns as those which do. Take CSI for example...

You seriously bumped a 7 year old thread to ask something you could have Googled in thirty seconds?

The first series is well worth watching.

After that it just sprawls and loses its way. Things get started but then aren't finished, pointless characters arrive from nowhere and go nowhere, it just meanders off into nothing.

But you should watch series 1.

I find it amusing that the OP can't spell Heroes, despite loving the show, what with how it flashes up in capitals on the screen at the start of every episode.
