M500 vs 840 Pro vs 840 Evo

Which of these three would you have? It's to be used for Windows and a few games.

Samsung 840 Evo
Samsung 840 Pro
Crucial M500

More specifically the ~250GB version of each.

I'm leaning towards the Evo personally.
 
The Pro is the fastest, and has a longer warranty (but is more expensive).
 
The Evo (i have one) or Pro if you can afford the extra.

I really never recommended Crucial SSDs,They always seem to have low Write speeds compared to their competition which are around the same price.
 
Question for you all - when you throw RAPID into the mix does that make the Evo more competitive with the Pro?

I chose those three as they have a good record for reliability.
 
I've just recently bought the Evo, seems the best value and performance wise they're all so high you won't be able to tell the difference.
 
been using a 256pro for over a year now
ive treated it horrible but its been perfect :)

looking to get my hands on a bigger sized evo real soon
i believe rapid will only work on one drive? so thats something to consider
 
Rapid is just a gimmick tbh,kinda like a ram disk

Own a pro and the 840 non EVO,can't tell the diff in day to day usage tbh
 
i own both the 840 pro and evo and i can honestly say that in everyday life i can not tell the difference between the two. if i hadnt of bought the pro before the evo was released i would have got 2 evos. all in all they are great drives and you will be pleased with either of them.

That's what I`ve found, RAPID doesn't seem to make much difference, apart from in benchmarks.

I also found that switching from an 840 non pro to the "faster" 840 Evo has not made much difference. The Evo may be a touch more responsive, but that may be the "placebo effect".
 
And I said many times that the older 840 (non Evo, non Pro) was a good choice. Quite a few people seemed very wary of TLC Nand, and thought the pro was a much faster and more reliable SSD. On paper it was, but in reality I doubt that most users would tell the difference.

The Evos use TLC Nand, but they are suddenly very popular for some reason (better specs ?).
