10 Corporations Control Nearly Everything You Buy

These guys are small fry. I thought this was going to be about the likes of Cargill, Koch, Vitol, Trafigura, Academi, Bechtel who are imo much more sinister.

LatexDog in yet another conspiracy adventure.

Stay tuned for scenes from the next episode.

see see! I knew it! gov'ment be controlling our minds man these fools are just their puppets! why'd you think they make microwave pizza's so tasty? so's the microwaves can link the chips the gov'ment put in our brains to the internet!

but the gov'ment covers it up man, my mate dave says how there's these huge asteroids that crash into the country and wipe out whole cities but the gov'ment hushes it up! we're all slaves!!!

You don't work for a Super Villain by any chance do you?

No that would be silly,

We do have this strange ceremony for new employee's, the MD (wearing a dress for some reason) stands in a circle, lights a few candles and mumbling something in Latin, after this a cup with a strange tasting red liquid is passed round.

Not really surprised, just shocked at the extent.

You must be a very weak willed individual if they "control" everything you buy. And also have odd eating habits.

Can't say that I have many if any products from that list. Of course I have bought from that list, but they are not a regular purchase of mine. It's not really surprising though, and I'm really not bothered either.

What's wrong with these corporations?

You'll have to do some digging yourself, it's not hard - most of it is on wikipedia. The one thing they all have in common is that they're privately held companies i.e. typically backed by a small number of extremely wealthy investors rather than available to the likes of anyone here.

I could count on one hand the amount of things on that chart I buy frequently and none of those I'd describe as essentials -- also have you really only just discovered subsidiaries exist? it's an extremely common feature in business.

What exactly is it you want to happen here Latexichan? look at the couple of local manufacturing or produce businesses and imagine your world were whatever the extremely specific and limited products they create are all you have access to unless you travel long distances -- I'm pretty sure I'm preferring the current system of multinationals bringing me insane amount of choice to my doorstep.

This is why I buy supermarket branded stuff :p

Don't you see, the supermarkets are the real evil here, they sell everything made by these soulless corporations along with their own brand products made with mistreated horses and gathered and assembled by handicapped child labour asylum seekers. They profit most from your spending, no matter which brand you buy.

Its all a conspiracy to give you the illusion of choice. Wake up sheeple! #LIZARDMEN #RIDICULOUSLYUNINFORMED #LATEXDOG4PRESIDENT
