OK so some update on my switch over to ART which I did last night, I can safely say that my battery has improved by over 30% obviously this may increase or reduce in the next few days.

What's app does not work as mentioned by few others. Apart from that I haven't had any issues.

Why does my Photos app icon look different. In the drawer it looks like the guys screenshots above but on the launcher it looks like the one on the middle far right below:

afaik google photos is not the same as photos which is not the same as gallery. there is 3 apps, you're looking at 2 different ones

But when I open the Photos app from the launcher, it opens the same Photos app from the one in the drawer. And using the app/task switcher it shows only one active app.

No file size limit on airdriod. Best app for managing your phone. Downloading and uploading data over WiFi in your home. Massive fan.

Also on battery use I am finding it way better than the n4. On 90‰ since coming off charge at 8am.

I do like this phone but would miss the camera on the Lumia 1020 far too much, have I got any hope of returning it as I got it out of CPW shop or am I buggered.

Compared to my S4 the whites are very good, but the blacks... and in dark environment... not good.

Yeah, i'm struggling to like the LCD screen after using AMOLED for so long. Yes the colour accuracy is nice but there is no Black as such, just shades of grey. If KitKat eliminated all traces of the Holo dark theme it wouldn't be so noticeable, but when i pull down the notification shade or go into settings it's horrible.

I use whatsapp for every text message. Free to use with Wifi connection, no MMS or other crap, groups, videos and pictures, it's life!

First time I've really looked at my battery stats and something called "Media Server" is using a big chunk of battery. I've not even put any music on my phone yet, any ideas why its using a power?

Just had a play with a colleagues N5.
Very nice, very quick, the OS seems like a nice upgrade, can't wait for it to hit my N4.


One complaint I had from my small time using it, is it seems too light. This obsession with making phones lighter is going too far now imo.

Bit of an over reaction to Whatsapp not working

whatsapp is what killed BBM and marked the end of blackberry imo, although there were probably a lot of other factors it offered what BBM does and more but for every device not just blackberrys.

blackberrys major selling point was BBM and whatsapp did what BBM does but for every device.

now whatsapp has become so powerful its the number 1 messaging app in the world. the fact blackberry have now allowed android and ios to get BBM after these many years is proof of them dying and the fact whatsapp has been available on blackberry for so many years shows how late they are to the party.

whatsapp is probably my most used useful app tbh even though i have unlimited texts, it's far easier to use whatsapp, instantly know that it's been delivered or read, etc. free picture and video messages, even voice messages now, etc.

all whatsapp need to do now is add in video calling and it could easily wipe out skype.

it's 9g lighter than the nexus 4, it's all in your head, there is no way you could even notice such a small difference in weight unless your really weak.

i mean 9g is like what a teaspoon of sugar? in terms of weight difference.
