780Ti official review thread

Because people believe the 780Ti is better AMD can't up the price ^^^^, if anything the 290X prices may have to come down, including AIB cards. Sub £400.

It's a shame EVGA do not do the ATI cards as well.

Meh, a Sapphire 290X Toxic would be just as good, or an MSI 290X lightning

You can't step up to a Classified :(

I already have one though. Maybe so Humbug but I'm not selling my card second hand to get a card that might just catch up. The step-up program is amazing for people like me who chop and change a lot.

Surely they cant charge less for custom cooled cards?

If you take a large selection of games and the average it all out.

R9 290X Uber = 92% @ 1080P vs 780Ti 100%
R9 290X Uber = 93% @ 1600P vs 780Ti 100%

A better cooler and a proper memory clock and there is nothing in it between the 290X and 780TI

The Hexus review i pointed at was even less than that.

What I take from this is people are willing to pay £100+ for something they won't actually be able to quantify unless you put a chart in front of them. With the fps these cards pull, I doubt you can tell which is which in every day gaming use.

The Classified isn't on the list of cards to step up to

http://www.evga.com/support/stepup/

have a look about half way down

Oh I see, well that's that out the window then, wouldn't bother stepping up to the others, although the Superclocked is probably not going to be too shabby either on OC. I wonder if it's jsut because it's not on their shop yet though.

Edit: Nor are the SC cards, looks like reference only which I never get, that's basically a side step.

If they can't sell them at a price, that price will have to come down, it will have to keep coming down until they can sell them.

With the amount of negativity around these cards they may end up very cheap before this years out.

So I assume you will be buying a 290X/290 this time Humbug?

I will do the Techpowerup review later to see what they make (the ones listed in the OP) but I guess we can too and fro all day with the 780Ti is this much or this much faster. Bottom line is the 780Ti is king of the single core GPU's and I noticed a few feathers (to coin someone elses phrase) being ruffled for some reason. :D

Don't be a douche ^^^ the only feathers being ruffled are yours, you can't stand the fact that the 780TI doesn't beat the 290X convincingly and so you have a burning need to prove reviewers wrong. :p

Of course its not much faster, its a Titan with 10% more cores and a light overclock. thats it.

So I assume you will be buying a 290X/290 this time Humbug?

considering a 290, But i don't know if i need it, i would only buy one with a AIB cooler, if i decide i need it, i'm only running one 1080P screen, and right now on my current GPU i'm able to run BF4 online with everything on Ultra, without AA that is.

I also like the look of the Toxic 280X.
I bought 3 brand new GPU's last year. This time i'm waiting to see how things pan out, i fancy a change, i would like a 780 but can't justify the price in my head.

I don't quantify any of my purchases to my gf let alone forum people lol. If you're not fussed about spending the money then why should anyone else be.

I have not seen mention of Nvidia putting an extra 0.02v into the 780ti around here, I would like to see it compared to a Titan at the same clocks and voltage ;)
