righty ho, I have a nemesis clone on the way and using unprotected panasonic 18650 batteries and ultrafire 18350 batteries. Do I need to grab some awr/imr branded protected batteries for these?
Ahh just the man i was looking for, right im using 32awg kanthal on a m3 screw and i want to get about 1.8ohms, how many wraps would i need??...ive done 10 and it came out to 4.2ohm lol then tried 8 wraps which gave me 3.5ohms.
Need help lol
Not quoted for me but cheers for the heads up as it is what I was also looking for and a decent price.![]()
I assume you're trying to microcoil if you're using the M3 screw trick. You need to use pliers to push the coil together after you've made it, then dry burn it. 8 coils should be fine.

The 32AWG (0.2mm) is probably best to keep for when you want to dual coil - the thinner the wire (or higher the Guage/AWG number), the higher the resistance. I included it for multiple coils as you divide the total resistance by however many coils you have (provided they're identical).
If you're after 1.8ohm , I'd try 10-12 turns of the 28AWG (0.3mm). It's a little springer, but a good flame will fix that and make it easier to handle, plus the MicroCoil itself is a little less fragile when squeezing the turns so they touch. Once you've got a tight, touching coil, pop it back on the bolt to keep it together and connect to the +ve & -ve points, remove the bolt, then check resistance before you fire it.
Keep an eye out for small crackles/hotspots as you pulse the power, it should sort itself out quite happily if it's nicely wrapped. Reinsert the bolt if it needs any fiddling to keep it tidy.
You're looking for a coil that looks like a miniature Slinky, that glows from the middle first, to the outer ends.
Once you're happy, let it cool a few seconds then insert the cotton - you only need enough to make sure the entire inside of the coil is "touching cloth" (sorry!), prime with juice and enjoy.
Don't let the cotton dry burn or it'll need replacing.
A decent coil will last weeks - just dry burn between cotton changes and blow/wipe any crud off with a cotton bud.
Happy Vaping mate!
That's brutal news milky. Hope it gets sorted.
RE the RSST reducer, i fashioned something similar and got a really warm vape from it. I think a bigger airhole would have complemented it well.
Cheers Red, used the 28AWG kanthal, wrapped 12 times and boom 1.8ohms..thanks for the tip. Now to insert a cotton wick in there lol.

Oh wow oh ****ing wow, just did my first micro coil and im in vaping heaven...holy mother of jesus, words cant describe just how brilliant the micro coil is.
Just put some rapsberry juice and bam what a hit and what a flavour. Damn microcoil is now the only way im gonna coil my KFL lol.
Thank you Red for making that kit for me, bloody awesome![]()
